It was about 3:00am and my wife and I awoke to our daughters voice. She was standing at the foot of our bed saying very strange things while sleep walking. We both heard her say
"Mother, I saw someone casting out devils in your name, he did not follow us" She kept saying that to my wife. When we grabbed her we realised she was sleep walking and had deeply scratched her arms. Does doesnt remember any of it and says she has never heard that statement before. Has anyone ever heard of this? any help would be appreciated.
p.s we are not religous and dont go to church

Actually, I agree with the guy who was mentioning the Good Morning America tv program, and the scary movies. I know it's scary, and it may sound a bit too spooky for someone who isn't religious, but it's something truly to be concerned about. God does not harm the body, or cause you to harm the body.

It's great that you're asking questions about this, and you're looking in the right direction. It's a warning, for sure. Whether you're exposing your child to the wrong types of movies, or whether it was some type of spiritual possession (trust me, it happens), it's a clear sign that something needs to change. The best way to do this is to have an open dialogue with your daughter. Kids are incredibly honest and very self-aware, although they may not have the vocabulary to articulate themselves. Secondly, it would be a great idea to try to go to church. I know that you may find it as a waste of time, but it's clear that your daughter needs some spiritual guidance in her life, and it's your responsibility to see to it that she's safe, not just physically but mentally and spiritually also. She's of an age where she's not able to protect herself in any way, and being in an environment where others are spiritually safe will safeguard her. If you just drop her off at Sunday school, and don't go yourself, it's important to provide her with some type of spiritual foundation-- because it's clear that she's vulnerable to spiritual awareness.

In closing, it's very good that you're aware that this is not a normal, passing thing. It's very concerning, indeed. Now, please have the courage and flexiblity to do what's best for your daughter-- which is start her in some type of spiritual environment so that she learns the keys to protecting herself from possessions.

I hate to sound spooky, but it's really much the truth. I wish you well.

I am curious as to the time-line on this. Was it prior to or after Halloween. If it was after - then did you take her trick or treating - and if so, what did you have her dressed up as?

Some years ago - I watched Good Morning America when David Hartman was still the main figure (the show was new at the time) and he interviewed a head warlock over several witches covens.

This man said quite plainly that parents are fools, stating that when parents dress their children up (or allow them to) they are risking that child to demonic possession on Sanhain (or however its spelled out).

He acknowledged not every child gets possessed but said evil spirits (demons) seek out the handiest, easiest vessels non the less and then possess them. The reasons why and how - were not explored by Hartman in the interview with this guy.

You can take that for what its worth to you - BUT - if at any point you feel your child is possessed - do not take her to a Roman Catholic Priest. You would have to find an Apostolic Preacher. I tell you why. Jesus nor the Apostles ever used holy water or crucifixes or other contraptions to cast a demon out. Never. The Roman Catholic Priests are dangerous.

V E R Y - I M P O R T A N T!
LASTLY - It is still just as likely that she saw some scary movie - and assimilated it in her subconscious mind. It doesn't happen very often - BUT - it does happen. I would explore that avenue first. I would hate to put your child through something when something else is easier explained.

Tv movie - a rented movie - did anyone else let her see anything as potent as the possession of Emily Rose.., or the Exorcist... anything like that? It could be a deeply embedded psychosis from shock in seeing such a film - and THAT is just as bad as being possessed without actually being possessed.

I hope and pray that there is no more repeat of this occurrence.
Anything from God does not have us injur ourselves nor anyone else. That much is clear, Self injury comes from traumatic experiences, psychosis or possession - not from God.

more than likely it was a dream of something she might have heard or pieces of it. I think if it does not happen again you might be OK. If it does happen again I think a doctor over Church might help better. But I think it is was just something that was pieced together but her dream.

Also warlock is a bad word meaning traitor. A male witch is a witch... Warlock is not the right word. But this is just from a Wicca, aka witch

Warlocks are, among historic Christian traditions, said to be the male equivalent of witches (usually in the pejorative sense of Europe's Middle Ages), and were said to ride pitchforks instead of broomsticks. In some pop culture TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Bewitched warlocks are male witches. In the TV show Charmed a warlock is an evil witch, a "traitor to an oath" who steals other witches' powers, while any good male witch featured retains the title "witch"

As used by most Wiccans and modern witches, the term warlock refers to a witch who has been expelled for breaking oaths, revealing secrets, working black magic or committing some other betrayal.

I think the thing to worry about would be if your wife is possessed. Only in Jesus' name can demons be cast out. If your daughter is saying this then what she is saying makes sense only if your wife is a certain type called an antichrist. Since you both are not religious I highly doubt there are any demons involved cause why try to possese somone whose family doesn't believe in Jesus anyways. God does speak to people in dreams. Maybe He is trying to get through to you and your family that Jesus is the only way. I would take it as a sign to reevaluate your religion, if only to give your daughter an understanding of religion that is not seen on the exorcist.

Never is a misnomer. She may have heard the statement 5 or more years ago or on radio or television. Somewhere in her memory, there was some statement similar to that she heard and it is in the behind of her conscious mind.

Strange as this may sound I believe the message implies that your family is safe. The intense reaction and involvement your daughter had in her dream could explain the scratches. May your family be surrounded by love both day and night. Good luck with your search.

That was a prophecy. You wife if she has not persecuted the people of God openly, she has done so inside her heart. It is time for you people to turn and serve God. Through your wife many people will turn to God and she will be like Paul of the Bible. She will do wonders in the Lord.
Give your lives to God and then look for a living church where you will be fed spiritually. Don't take it for granted.
I am available if need be.

Weird...I don't know of any deep, persay, meaning of it. It doesn't really make sense to me, honestly. The only thing I can give to you about it, was that she was just sleep walking and talking. Normally people don't remember what they did/said while sleep walking. So...yeah, that's all I got for you on this.

This sounds very similar to a passage in the New Testament,
Mark 9:38, where John is talking to Jesus:

John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone who doesn't follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn't follow us."
