Jesus gave us the Beattitudes that may apply to anyone of any belief or faith:
Blessed are those who know they are spiritually poor;
the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!
Blessed are those who mourn;
God will comfort them!
Blessed are those who are humble;
they will receive what God has promised!
Blessed are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires;
God will satisfy them fully!
Blessed are those who are merciful;
God will be merciful to them!
Blessed are the pure in heart;
they will see God!
Blessed are the peacemakers;
They are the children of God....
Mt 5:1-12

What happened exactly?

I've been looking for a leadership figure to teach me about spirituality. I found this website about this guy Ted Haggard. He seems like a great guy...according to something that I read, he even bought amphetamines and threw them away - apparently to make sure that they didn't end up in the hands of others. Wow, what a selfless person!

I am being forced to go to Church by my parents, and I don't want to go, because I don't feel like I get anything out of it. I have been going to Church my whole life, and I have always felt this way. Whenever don't go to Church with my parents, they yell at me and punish me. I've tried telling them that my beliefs are different than theirs, but they still insist on me going to church. What should I do to keep them from punishing me whenever I don't go to Church?

There are so may so-called" psychics" out there and that a lot of money is made from it. A majority of it is quack (i.e. lottery numbers). However, I do have a couple of questions that would put me at ease:
1.Is there a such thing have having that "ability" of having that 6th sense?
2. Who does one go to to determine or "diagnose" that one has that "gift" or "ability"?
3..How do people who truly get posses that talent, put it to "proper" use?

*Since my late teens, I have occasional dreams or visions in which many events happened accurately. Lately, I have been more dreams and experiences and certain events have happended weeks or months later.

Imagine for a moment that you might be wrong - that there is no God. Nothing happens for a reason, nothing is planned out ahead of time.

Is it still wrong to have an abortion in extreme cases like incest, rape, and when it would kill the mother to have the child? There is no God to send this future child, no God to have 'planned' the rape or incest that created it. It was just the action of a horrible person, and will result in the suffering of a woman or girl.

And don't give me the 'adoption, not abortion' crap - some of you don't seem to realize that adoption still involves HAVING the child, carrying it for 9 months, going through the hell of labor, missing school and work and who knows what else.

If there is no God, how can you say that a child should have to have a child?

I am not Christian. And I do not even believe in religion. But I have a strange urge to own a cross neclace. But because I am not religious I feel weird about buying or wearing it in pucblic. And people would definately ask questions because I come from a Muslim country. But I just want a silver plain cross neclace! Is this very very absurd? What do you think??

She doesn't go public or advertise it, it's only known to the people around her. She's real in what she does, so I believe John Edwards is real too, they both have very similar gifts and abilities.

I don't understand why some women wear head coverings in churches. Doesn't the bible say her hair is her covering? So why do some churches think that women need to wear them? I'm confused on this issue. I'm a christian and the church I go to now has the women do that. I think me and one other lady are the only ones that dont. Am I missing something in the bible that requires this?

Would you like it if Yahoo Answers was to break down R&S into different religions.

Then a person could ask questions expecting to get answers based on who their asking. Plus you'd get better answers to look through instead of half dumb and half smart answers.

But where would they put atheist because they don't believe in anything. I guess they could have one called nonbelievers even though that doesn't really make sense.
