Jesus said "you will know them by their fruit"

Religiosity and self righteousness are killing folk as much as out and out soulish/selfishness.

What I think you're getting at is this: In Iraq the oppressed have just sentenced Saddam to death. His followers are creating havoc in an attempt to destabilize the country. Their justification for this is that western infidels have entered Islamic territory in order to create a democratic free state...a no no for extremists. (one of Osama bin liners reasons for attacking the west was that it had entered Saudi Arabia to deal with Kuwait)

Now, by "religious religion" we could mean "any religious activity based on mans efforts to redeem himself by apparently getting God's favour by so doing"

The root for this behavior can be found in "legalism" ie. it is the fruit of legalism.

If so then what can we say "spiritual religion" is?
Well all religion has a spirit behind it! So your question must prompt us to ask...

What spirit has caused this religious behavior?

Is it really from God? or we could say "Is it God's Spirit or another?"

What are the differences between a "spiritual religion" and a "religious religion"?

Seems some if Iraq situation is different sects of Muslims that are fighting each other.

I think 9/11 killed people in New York City, not in Iraq. But bringing terrorism to the USA did result in terrorists being pursued in other places.

BOTH! Let me explain:

I think there would be peace in Iraq if it wasn't for Iran interfering with it. The Islamic religion has become politisized over there.

Now, this war was an extension of the first Gulf war because Saddam kept violating UN resolutions and was not contained like people thought. The Oil for Food Scandal revealed Saddam had bought out members at the UN, France, Russia, Germany, and China.

At the same time, after 9/11 occurred President Bush said if anyone harbours a terrorist or supports a terrorist, you're a terrorist. Everyone applauded that sentiment. Saddam was supporting terrorists in Palestine. This is the thing that frustrates me is NO ONE has ever called Saddam a terrorist. By not doing so it gives support for the anti-war crowd to distort how we had to go in and take out the BUTCHER OF BAGHDAD.

Iraq had nothing to do with planning 9/11. It was either Al Quaeda or the Bush Administration. The reason people are dying in Iraq is that people are fighting over the land and its resources. Religion is just an excuse.

No religion, in fact, say to kill each other!
Not even Islam.
I'm Catholic, but i "studied" also other religion, including this religion, and i can say that Islam is peace!

Just foolish people believing that killing not muslim people or unfaithful people made death.
They misunderstood what their religion said!

More or less, Mohammed (peace be upon him) said these words:

Who kill or give pain to the Book's peoples can't be with Me in the judgemen't day.

Some Muslim can prove that what i wrote is more or less true? Please!

Conclusion: is just people with wron idead about religion that made evil things like the events of 9/11 or what happens in Iraq.
Sincerely.
Bye!

It was neither, murderers did that. Religion was an excuse, nothing more, someone looking for a reason to hate can always find a justification, as Hitler did with the Jews. Religion as a justification for hatred is largely restricted to Islam and Christianity, when did you ever hear of a Buddhist holy war?

Religion, in general, tends to promote hatred of the out-group. Many also tell their followers they will get a great reward after death, especially as a martyr. This is what makes people do 9/11.

This is a question for Osama Bin-Ladin, since he is very proud of 9/11. Didn't he say the West should expect more attacks like this from Al-Queada?
