I am not Christian. And I do not even believe in religion. But I have a strange urge to own a cross neclace. But because I am not religious I feel weird about buying or wearing it in pucblic. And people would definately ask questions because I come from a Muslim country. But I just want a silver plain cross neclace! Is this very very absurd? What do you think??

It can mean hope and peace also, which is what the religion it's based on believes in.

It can be like a good luck charm.

It's not absurd at all. a cross or any other religious relics only have meaning when you buy it for that reason. I seen many celebraties wearing crosses and I don't see them as a religious symbol but as a piece of jewelry. When asked why are u wearing a cross say just that, what I said, you like the design not the meaning that some people have of such.

I don't know. Some wear crosses to show pride in faith, others (for example the Japanese youth) wear for fashion reasons. You don't seem to fit those categories. Wear it if you want to, no one has the right to say anything about it. If you feel kind of weird about it, think about all the things that could go wrong, which isn't much. No it's not absurd...maybe you want to be a part of something. Who knows? Do what you want.

Follow your bliss and dont be distracted by what people think. The cross is a basic shape of the universe, it could be said that the cross just divides the universe into four equal parts.

do what you feel in your heart is the proper thing to do. there is nothing to my knowledge ( which is very limited ) which would be wrong in your wearing one. however I am in the U.S. and unless you are living in a Western Country you might want to check what the laws rules and mores are of the Country in which you live say about this situation as I would hate to see you get into trouble and you might also want to check with your parents or guardians if you are not of legal age just to be on the safe side.

Better you wearing one because of your honesty, rather then hypocrites wearing them. Ever seeing on the news someone getting arrested for a crime and they're wearing a cross? Sad but true.

Not really strange. Lots of non-christians wear them (check out some rock videos).

Just don't wear it any place you could get into trouble!

Has it crossed your mind that a loving Father is gently noodging you toward His Son?

Get the cross. Wear it and enjoy it for its beauty if nothing else. But you might also want to do some digging and find out more about it.

Go ahead and buy one!If people ask, just say" I am not religious" and leave it at that! You shouldn't have to care what people think!

Yes, it does sound that way.

It also appears that your goal is just to stir up other peoples emotions.
