I don't understand why some women wear head coverings in churches. Doesn't the bible say her hair is her covering? So why do some churches think that women need to wear them? I'm confused on this issue. I'm a christian and the church I go to now has the women do that. I think me and one other lady are the only ones that dont. Am I missing something in the bible that requires this?

It is a twist on scripture. My wife grew up in the same kind of church, a preachers daughter. If these bunch of legalisms would read the bible they would find out that that scripture ends with, "But we have no such customs in our churches." The original intent of this was concerning the Jewish law where women were supposed to cover their heads as a sign of subservience to God and their husbands. It's pure legalism. I have argued on the hair being a coverings also and how ridiculous this is. If hair is considered a covering, then men can go to church without pants on since we have hair covering our legs. It is legalism plain and simple.

No this is man made rules, policy whatever you want to call it, also there used to be a rule for such things in catholic religion then they changed their minds and said it was ok for women to go to church without a hat or kerchief or whatever covering you chose.
In the old testament the women were not to enter the holy place without first covering their heads, this is where the practice comes from, then it is changed in the new testament.
Because once Jesus died for our sins the new law was established the one of faith and belief in the saviour our Lord Jesus Christ. All religions are man made, so as long as you believe in God and try to be the best human being you can be, and your heart is good, and don't go to church for hypocrocies sake, you know to show everyone what a good christian you are, for who is man, that they should judge. It is what is written in your heart and is in your heart that counts to God, and you can't hide that from him, you may be able to from people, but not from God. This is why you shouldn't ponder or nickpick trivial things such as these but search for the truth of what it means to be a true christian.. Peace of Jesus Christ be with you. Amen

I know… it’s the same for the church I go to, and I’m not totally sure I’m convinced that it’s what is required of us as women. Read 1 Corinthians 11, pray about it, and, if I were you, I’d maybe ask the pastor in that church to explain why they think it is necessary.
