There was a question about this topic recently:

I wonder why there were so many answers that said it was a rule in every Muslim country that all women had to wear headscarf. They even continued to post this answer after there were already several answers of people who told from their personal experience that it is not so. So where from do these people get this idea that in all Muslim countries all women had to wear scarf or even veil or otherwise would be punished? Why do people insist on prejudices that can so easlily be proven false?

Ok, so I just asked a question about the meaning of life. Very interesting answer's. But one of them struck me in particular. Whoever they were they obvioulsy believed in God and Jesus, saying that the whole point of life is to serve God etc etc. But they also said that this life is nothing compared to the eternity in heaven you will receive if you believe in God and follow his teaching...

So here's my counterstrike to that. Does anyone else not think that the only reason religion still exists is because we are too afraid to accept that this really is JUST IT! No second life, no eternity. It's open your eyes your born, close your eyes you die. The stuff in between if just it.

Sounds horrific? Not really, don't you think that if we all truley believed that we might actually try and make this life and this world a better place instead of saying 'oh well doesn't matter, I've got heaven to look forward to?'

The Old Testiment gives the example of two bears coming from a mountain and ripping apart 75 children for being disrespectful. Given the horrible nature of the punishement, how could anyone believe in, much less worship, such a God?

I am aware that some will. I am not overly concerned but I do wonder. Sorry for offending any of my fellow Christians(And non Christians) but Christ did not teach hatred. Nor does my faith. I can accept and respect without neccesarily agreeing.

Peace Be With You,

If the Bible is to be believed, God killed innocent children and unborn babies because other people were wicked. Didn't those children have a right to live?

In another question the asker blames Islam for the problems of the world. He states that "muslims believe that we should all obey the Koran" and that Islam forces muslims to confront and convert non-believers.
But doesn't every religion have a similar stance?

Is life really all about pleasing some almighty diety that (in my opinion) should have died along with Zues, Jupiter and Osiris? Or is it more about trying to better your own life and the lives of those around you (e.g family, friends?)

Life is filled with challenges
each and every day.
Frustrations get the best of me
if I don't take time to pray.
But when I stop and talk to God
He heals my broken heart.
He holds me close and tells me
that we'll never be apart.

For I am His and He is mine,
I am a child of God.
And He takes me as I am
torn and scared and flawed.
He will not turn His back on me
no matter what I face.
He'll stay and heal my wounded heart
my pain He will erase.

Challenges face me all my days
sometimes I cannot cope.
Questions always fill my mind
and sometimes I lose hope.
But when I stop and really think
about how much God cares.
I know that I will be all right
despite my deep despair.

For I am His and He is mine
He never leaves my side.
When I'm weak He carries me
then in His arms I hide.
I know the hard time will still come
for sin makes my heart flawed.
But I will never lose my hope
for I'm a child of God.
