It does not say when they shall cease.
So we have lost one of the gifts of the Spirit. Which other ones are gone?

Its from Jesus
its a gift of the spririt
so I advise you to keep quiet
all his gifts are still available for the edification of the church
let us not put out the fire of the spririt or offend him

The gift of tongues happened in the Biblical days when Jesus walked the earth. There was a great gathering for Passover, many people came from far away that spoke different languages, the disciples was worried because they weren't going to be able to preach the gospel to them, so Jesus asked his Father to let the Holy Spirit come down upon them and bless them with the ability of tongues. They were then able to go out in to the crowds and speak and the people could here in there languages, even though the disciples didn't even know the different languages, everyone in the crowd heard their own language.

Talking in tongues is of God, and it is still possible. But the bible says that it is a language that you speak to God. It is not for man to understand. If there is a message spoken through tongues, God will also provide an interpreter.

speaking in tongues is of God, speaking in tongues is a language that only you have to speak to God and the Satan can't understand a word your speaking and it makes him mad. Sometimes God uses tongues to speak to his children through another person what I mean is God can give someone a word right after the other person speaks in tongues and the word that person has from god is from god and should be taken as if god told you himself

Prayer language, and speaking in an unknown tongue is in the bible. It is a gift from God, and it is for the body of Christ today.

I have had the gift of an unknown, unlearned prayer language for about 20 years and it is not of the devil. It may not be supernatural, but it's not satanic.

God, but Satan can't understand what your saying when you speak to God in tongues, also Angles can understand what you say to God if you speak in tongues ti him.

Of people. Tongues are languages. Talking in tongues is talking in languages. We all talk in a language (in a tongue). Talking in tongues is a human characteristic.

Modern day, it is of Satan. Tongues were needed to aid in the confirmation and spread of the gospel, but the "complete" revelation has come, so they are no longer needed.
1Co 13:8 Love never fails. But prophecy will pass away. Speaking in languages that had not been known before will end. And knowledge will pass away. 9 What we know now is not complete. What we prophesy now is not complete. 10 But when what is complete comes, the things that are not complete will pass away.
