Biblical teaching. The scriptures are clear, faith and repentance are not enough. EVERY TIME scripture records someone BECOMING A CHRISTIAN, they are IMMEDIATELY BAPTIZED, EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

Acts 16:33 At that hour of the night, the jailer took Paul and Silas and washed their wounds. Right away he and his whole family were baptized. -- Read the context, this started at midnight.

Scripture teaches baptism for the remission of sins, Acts 2:38. Modern theologians claim that baptism is some meritorious work and is not required, yet scripture is plain. First century believers were NEVER told to "accept Jesus," rather, they were told, "Repent and be baptized."

What is "calling on the name of the Lord?" Acts 2:21 quotes Joel 2 "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Then Peter continues his sermon. Later, when the people ask what they should do, he tells them repent and be baptized. From this, we must conclude that "calling on the name of the Lord" INCLUDES REPENTANCE AND BAPTISM.

The first "Gospel Sermon" ever preached is recorded for us in Acts 2:14-47. Read it and see the truth of what these first Christians were told to do to become Christian.

He didn't, the baptism and sins being washed away are to seperate things. One comes from repentance and belief, while the other comes from obedience afterwards. But back then, it was custom to be baptized and saved at the same time, so the order in the sentence makes no difference.

TIMOTHY 3:15
But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know the right and proper way to conduct yourself in THE HOUSE OF YAHWEH, who are the called out ones of the living Father, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Seek baptism Yahweh's way.
Yahweh's Holy Spirit calls a person to serve Him, and it guides one into all truth, including showing one things to come, namely Prophecy! A person receives the guidance of this Spirit when that person is baptized in the correct way. Yahweh's Holy Spirit will then guide him in the way of Yahweh. This does not mean that a person will automatically accept all the truth that is presented, but Yahweh's truth will be presented to him. This is Yahweh's promise. He will guide you into all truth. Yahshua our Messiah said in Mattithyah 15:14, ``If the blind lead the blind, they both shall fall in the ditch.'' Our Messiah did not say they would both be saved. If they are blinded, then they are without the Holy Spirit. The guidance of Yahweh's Holy Spirit into all truth is received only upon correct baptism.

Hosheyah 4:6--
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you will be no priest to Me. Because you have forgotten the Law of Yahweh, I will also forget your children.

Yahweh did not inspired Hosheyah to say anyone could be saved because of his ignorance.

Deuteronomy 4:2--
You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor shall you take anything from it, so that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your Father which I command you.

I have heard Deuteronomy 4:2 quoted so many times from different preachers who do not believe what that Scripture says! Some of these same preachers add to Yahweh's Word; others take from the Word of Yahweh. All of them think they are doing righteousness. In effect, Yahweh says in this Scripture: "If you add anything to or take anything from My Word, you will be unable to keep My Commandments.'' The Apostle Shaul wrote:

Colossians 2:8--
Beware that no one leads you away like a prize because of philosophy or empty, false statements, according to the traditions of men, after the elements of the world, and not after the Messiah!

Yahweh inspired the Prophet Yeremyah to write:

Yeremyah 23:21--
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran; I have not spoken of them, Yet they prophesied.

How, then, does one know if a preacher is sent? We can know the same way we know Yahshua our Messiah was sent. Notice the following Scripture.

Amoshyah 3:7--
Most assuredly Father Yahweh will have no work, other than the work that He has prophesied in advance by His servants the prophets.

The true baptism, not the mere washing with water.
Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Gwen Stefani: What chu waiting for?
This Paul you mention did commit sins against early Christians and so he had to tell them that he had repented, been washed clean and was forgiven. Otherwise, they wouldn't have listened to his teachings.
Gwen was only singing about taking action before it's too late, but it seemed relevent and it has a catchy hook.

Baptism is not needed for salvation. We receive salvation, eternal life, forgiveness of sins, justification, and righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is an outward sign of salvation.

It was Paul's faith that washed away his sin's. Faith to believe in the things of God, such as baptism.

I find it difficult to understand how seemingly intelligent and educated people can believe that science and free thought can have all the answers, or NOT believe in all the Bible teaches. So far the Bible is the only thing ever written which is completely infallible.
