I am aware that some will. I am not overly concerned but I do wonder. Sorry for offending any of my fellow Christians(And non Christians) but Christ did not teach hatred. Nor does my faith. I can accept and respect without neccesarily agreeing.

Peace Be With You,
Debra

As an atheist I don't understand the question, why do you say you hold no animosity towards Islam ?
What brought the question up in the first place, why should any Christian hold any animosity against any other religion?? You and the Muslims believe there is but one God don't you??
The only difference I see is that Islam does not believe that Jesus was God, they do respect him as a Prophet, as they respect their own Prophet Mohammed !
That all sounds simple enough to me as a complete unbeliever!! Islam simply does not believe that Jesus was (and still is) God!!
In fact obviously only Christians believe this.
What a load of complete BS all this religious stuff is the sooner it is all banned the better for the rest of us humans!!
Peace be with the human race!!
Just read the answer from 'proscunio' what understanding of religion is there in that answer?? How many wife's young children did Moses have any idea?? No I didn't think so!!
Or perhaps it would be better to stick to the new testament?? Very strange how 'Christians' can pick and choose between testaments to suit their own purpose isn't it?????
Its a sad mixed up world, why dont they all jump off??

I hope this is not true. How can anyone hold animosity toward another for being good?
Shoot I can't curse anyone that thinks badly of you, because you would not like it.

But I'd gather every witch and warlock, voodoo priestess, person of power in R&S and Mythology and set such a curse if I could.
The very idea of hating Debra!

Grow up people - to blanket a religion for the actions of a few is obviously wrong. We are all just trying to get from point A to point B in one piece, it's 2006 and still there no sign of people understanding anything Jesus taught!
I am not very moderate about this, I am serious.

I have no animosity towards Islam, nor do I hold animosity towards any religion. I can tell you from experience that being open and up front about this will leave you a target for the hate-mail and the stalkers. I receive it daily, and I am stalked. Oh well.

I admire you for your willingness to accept everyone unconditionally. We should all be so caring. The world would be a brighter place.

I have been reading a book called "Secrets of the Koran" by Don Richardson...because I want to understand Islam better and I want to see it the way that I can appreciate my Muslim friends even more. There is a lot of things that I do not understand but I believe that we are here to learn to love one another.

There a lot of things that I cannot accept nor respect and I definitely do not agree, but I am ready to love my neighbors.

THANK YOU! Finally another Christian who feels that Islamic people should be loved rather then hated. And the western culture is doing a horrible job of doing that! In my opinion, most Islams are actually more decent people then most of the "christians" I know. We need to love them, and show them the message of love that Jesus gave us. If all christians did this to everyone, this world would be a different place.

I'm not sure 'hate' or 'dislike' are words that I would care to use to describe my feelings.

Try 'bewilderment', 'dismay', 'shock' or 'revulsion'---that's how I felt when you came up with this bizarre notion that our God is the same deity as Allah.

No, I do not serve the 'moon god' of Islam who would have me kill in his name. I serve a risen Christ in the Church that He instituted here on Earth before he ascended into Heaven.

You are misguided if you think that Allah and our Lord are the same.

Tell me, can you EVER imagine the words of John 3:16 coming out of the mouth of Allah, and then given to Muhammed? It never happened.

While I do not agree 100% with Islam beliefs, as I presently understand them, I suspect they and Catholicism both practice the 2 or more witnesses principle, which I know is one factor in this country why some disagree with the Catholic faith. (Basically, condemning principles that are scripturally based).
As I see it, many folks could learn a few things from them.

I admire you for holding no animosity toward Islam and for following your faith. I have no animosities toward them either. If we all felt this way the world would be a much better place.

Peace be with you also.

its okay girl, dont hate NO ONE...anyone can say they are a christian but if they dont show the love of christ then they are just saying it to sound good. remember actions speak a WHOLE lot louder than words, so dont compromise your faith by hating islam no matter what. Hatred is not scripturally backed, plus how do you win souls if you are hating anyone? I say stick to your guns....learn about the sabbath (saturday), learn about Jesus and what he did on the cross for everyone....be all that you can be and ask God to create in you a clean heart, so that you may glorify him and do his will and not your own....he will bless you and work it out...as for everyone else, intercede on their behalf, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do".
