Is life really all about pleasing some almighty diety that (in my opinion) should have died along with Zues, Jupiter and Osiris? Or is it more about trying to better your own life and the lives of those around you (e.g family, friends?)

The meaning of life is to be the best person you can be. To be the best friend, lover, wife, mother, husband, father that you can be. To learn from your mistakes and move forward. We are here to help each other and to learn from each other. People leave imprints on other peoples lives. It is much like a fingerprint. You can't see it with the naked eye, but it is there. Life is not measured by how many promotions you received nor how much money you made or even the fancy house and/or the fancy car that you drive. Life is measured by the times that you were able to help someone and be there for the people that need you. To laugh with, cry with or just hold them to let them know that everything will be OK.

First, you are wrong about almighty diety that should have died. That is a contrast and not logic.
Second, life is toserve God through praying and trying to better your own life and the lives of those around you following the orders of God not for any gain or even for your conscience ordering you that because God is the all-knowing what we must do.

The whole obligation of man is to serve the true God, Jehovah. By doing so you would be a better person, more loving to all and to yourself. If all served Jehovah the true God this would be a better world, one without wars and prejudice. And man could focus on true progress in peace. Why do you think the world really is getting worse by the day and people are not becoming better people?, it's because they either don't believe in Jehovah or will not serve the true God.

You are spot on - and frankly I don't even think Christ thought life was about pleasing some almighty. It seems to me that Christ and the Bible really are meant to teach a way of life and teach us of our own divininty more than make us subservient to any deity. I mean, Christ was moving away from a religion that said serve this vengeful god, wasn't he?

Peace!

MY life is never about serving an almighty deity. It is ALWAYS about trying to better my life and the lives of those around me (family, friends and society in general).

I believe life is a gift from God to be cherished and treasured. How u live your life will reflect on the acceptance of His gift. I am far from perfect, have an attitude every now and again and can be a real pain in tookus, but I believe and love life and I always remember that its a gift from Him.

Serving God and making "your own life and the lives of those around you better (e.g family, friends?)" are synonymous, almost. If you also help the disenfranchised, that is serving God. "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me..." (Matthew 25:35).

To serve God. We had FSM and meatballs just the other day.

We have all been given free will. We can MAKE life what we want it to be. I choose to serve a Living God, and to fill a vacancy left by Satan and his minions. You may do as you wish.

God has His son Jesus who He is weeding out the bad people who will not make His son happy, and will not love His son freely, by way of this test we know as life in this world.

The object is, that Those who accept Jesus as their savior, love, obey, and praise Him of their own free will, and in all sincerity shall become the bride of Jesus in heaven.

Those who become born again and are Christians who accept Jesus as their savior, become what is called the body of Christ.Jesus is the Lamb of God who layed down His life for our sins, so we can come to heaven sin free and cleansed. God will not look upon sin or the sinnerl

When Jesus comes back for His Church/bride, then the marriage will take place in heaven. God want to find the perfect bride for His son that will love Him unconditionally, freely and willingly, and in all sincerity.

This is why we are all given free will to choose to follow Jesus and accept Him, or reject Him and remain the child of satan.

Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

Revelation 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

So my question to you is.... would you wrather have a spouce that was forced to marry you, even though they dispised you.... or would you want a spouce that loved you so much, that all they wanted to do for you is make you happy and love you unconditonally, the way you loved them?

This is what God wants for His son Jesus. The perfect bride. That is what the meaning of life is. We are just passing through this life, because our real life will be an eternity. Where you choose to spend it is your free choice to make.
