Do not leave out details. Was it in color? Did you smell the aroma, and could feel everything as though it was real. When you woke up did the dream effect you?

Past civilizations had what they called religions. Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans worshipped many gods and practiced special rites. American aborigenes also did it their way. Some tribes even practiced human sacrifice. The communities abode by their doctrines and respected their religious leaders just like Christian believers have done for over 20 centuries and still do today. Will there come a time that will change if science prevails over religion? Just compare past with present to get a glimpse at the future. Zeus, creator and father, also came to Earth in flesh and bone, lived up, high, beyond the clouds on the peak of Mt. Olympus with his celestial court of gods and godesses who were all immortals. Doesn't that ring a bell?

In 2001, I taught a nun how to make handmade soap in my home. She travelled to me for lessons. She offered to thank me with a massage and in that massage, she did something that she never should have done, posing it to me as "therapeutic". When we asked her for explanation 4 months later, she fell silent. The nuns were silent with us for 3 years, then sent us 8000 emails, but they never wanted to listen to what happened or talk to me about what I experienced. From all you know about God and faith, please leave your comments, and help me begin the forgiveness journey. I do not know how and although it has been five years since the incident, I am still hurting deeply and afraid to go into any church Catholic or nonCatholic. I never thought it was Christian to ignore people, to use the silent treatment, so I ask Christians on the internet, please help me to forgive. I have no clue. There's been a lot of damage to me and my family in this. This person is making soap and selling it.

I was reading the bible and came across this,

Matthew
18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Now, a friend of mine just lost her leg in a car accident (it wasn't her fault in case you're wondering). Two really big Christians who are also friends of hers then prayed for their god to heal her and give her back her old leg, so it would be like the accident never happened.

Her leg didn't miraculously become reattached to her body and in 100% perfect working order. In fact, nothing happened at all. What's the deal? That passage in the bible says that if two people prayed to the christian god for it to happen, he would make it so.

Why is christianity spreading lies and giving people, like my friend, false hope? The bible says it would be done, but it didn't happen. What a load of rubbish. This just gives me another reason to be Atheist....

People, please enlighten me on how you've hypothesized how evolution proves in the non-existance of God? I believe in evolution and I believe in God, the two co-exist, in fact God is evolution, evolution is God.Since when did it become so cliche to negate God with anything scientific?Did you get this from the bible? If so, you are wrong, the bible was not meant to be a history, geology, or an astronomy book, so get that misconception out of your head, its a book on how to live, nothing more nothing less.

I am not naive enough to think evolution does not exist. We were formed from micro organisms to what we have today along with that growing more and more intelligent throughout this universal existence. There is a path to evolution and that path is the highest form of consiousness and awareness of the surroundings all around you. We are ignorant creatures and utilize less of our brain than we can ever imagine. I believe in God and I believe in evolution why are the two seperated?

How far is too far as a Christian couple who are not married or engaged. We have looked at 1 Corinthians and Song of Songs and had a few answers that related to an earlier question but a lot of them were assuming we were married. We plan to marry at some point - this relationship is long-term - but finances don't allow us at the moment. Sex is definitely not our reason to get married, but looking through the Bible, it seems unclear as to what is acceptable for couples who are not married but deeply in love. We are not animals and can control ourselves - this is not lust which we know is wrong we are just trying to find the line!

Religion?

2006-10-21 04:51:01 · 28 answers · asked by Charles Darwin 2

What do you say to a little (8 year old) kid who is in your care, whose family you know is religious, when he asks you about God, angels, and the Devil? I've tried to brush it off, "That's something you ask your parents." But he keeps asking. I like his curiousity in things, he has to know how everything works, but this is something I really feel I shouldn't talk to him about...but at the same time, I'd like him to hear both sides of the spectrum some day of his life. I know he's too young right now and he's not my kid. He's really interested on why I don't go to church anymore when my brother does. Should the the basic ideas of Atheism and other religions be exposed to him?

(PS: His parents are away and I can only contact them in emergencies)

Do you really think harassing people for asking religious questions in the Religion&Spirituality section will work?

Wouldn't you enjoy some other section where they ask other types of questions?

If your problem is that Y!A has a Religion&Spirituality section, shouldn't you take that up with Y!A rather than showing us how petty you can be by harassing people using this section in the way it was intended?

Christians who answer, I would like to hear scriptures from the bible, or your passionate views on the subject. Others who answer I would like to hear your view as well. But I would appreciate that we all remain respectful. Do not refrain from many words, as I enjoy reading many.

Question repeated.
Surely the clear use of Numerology in the book of Revelation is a clear indication that the book is constructed by a human attempting to design a mysterious looking book, and not a divinly inspired work from the creator of the Universe?
