1. I am LDS, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...otherwise known as Mormon.
2. My church is the church Jesus spoke of in the Bible when He said He would restore it to the earth in the last days. Every religion has truth in it...the difference lies in where people go with it. Everyone should be respected, though, regardless of their beliefs. God loves us all, as we are all His children.
3. I prayed about it. I actually was skeptical about it and said I would never join, mainly because of what I'd heard and read my whole life. Then I actually went to the church and spoke with missionaries and found that everything I'd heard about the church was untrue...that it's different than people say it is. I still was unsure if it was true or if it was where I needed to be, as I'd vowed to remain non-denominational. Then I prayed to God and asked Him if it was true. I got my answer and was baptized shortly thereafter, and I always will remain there.
4. The only way for anyone to truly know the truth is to pray about it. I mean, there is so much evidence scripturally, and we have prophets (false prophets deny Christ and do not live by His Word, that's how to tell our prophets are true), but you cannot honestly know by asking people because people all have different beliefs. "If any man shall seek wisdom, let him ask of God who abraideth not, and the answer shall be given him." We are taught in our church that when you learn of something you should pray about it to see if it is right. When I prayed I got my answer, and then I was led to different scripture where it prophesied about my church. Joseph of the Bible said that there would be another after him to restore the truth and that his name would also be Joseph, and he would be named after his father. Joseph Smith, our founding prophet, was Joseph Smith Jr. Also, as I mentioned above, Jesus foretold of restoring the church in the last days.
5. (and I added this one) If you honestly are searching for truth, the best thing is to do what I've been doing. You cannot truly find truth if you close your mind off to everything else. Study...learn as much as you can about different religions. Pray about what you learn, asking God if it is right. Truth lies within questions and doubt. Doubt is not the substance of disbelief, as some may say. Rather, it is the basis for belief and finding truth. It is the only way to know for sure. Blind faith is not very helpful, for it does not allow for new ideas to come in. Also, what is helpful is to take this test. It asks you different questions about what you specifically believe. Based on your responses, it tells you what church you would most likely belong to. Go to www.beliefnet.com then under the Faiths and Practices header in the top left, click on Belief-o-matic.
This is my personal advice to you in finding the truth, search for it and pray about it.
I hope this helps. Best wishes in your search!
God bless!
Much love in Christ,
Sassa

1. I am Spiritual - I do not adhere to any particular religion, and I study all different religions, and have attended many religous temples, churches and ceremonies. My upbringing is Episcapalian Christian.
2. The Christian religions, contrary to what people say, does not claim to be the only true relgion. In the Bible it specifcially states to respect all religions and even those who are athiests, because that is where they are needed to be in life.
3. I died once when I was younger. When I was revived, I retained all of my memories from when I was dead - everything about what people call the "afterlife", God, Angels, etc.
4. The persuit of religion is a personal thing. Nobody should force you to go one way or the other. You should research what is out there in the world - there are thousands of established religions. You may find like I did that no one religion appeals to you, and you may find you either do or do not believe in God. It is this persuit that is the true religion - not the organizations, nor the belief. Trust in yourself.

1. I am not religious. I have a Christian background, however.
2. Some Christians believe that Christianity is the only true religion, while other Christians believe that it's possible to obtain insight by studying other religions.
3. How do I know my religion is true? I do not have a religion. However I have ethical beliefs. I consider my ethical beliefs to be of value because: I believe that it is important that we treat each other well, if at all possible. I do not condone religious bigotry, because I believe bigotry is wrong. I do not condemn others for their religious beliefs, as long as their beliefs do not include harming others.
4. Regarding your religious beliefs, I would recommend judging your religion on the criteria I have listed above. You may have your own criteria, too. Your conscience must ultimately be your guide.

3. How do YOU know it's true? Through faith. Faith is the bases for truth in all religions. If you don't have faith, you cannot believe in any god or higher being.
4. How can I know if it's true, as taught by your religion? Once again, faith.

2. No
3. I know it's true because it works. I don't claim that it is the only way, but only that it is a valid way. And it enhances my life and makes me a better person.
4. I don't require that you come to believe in the truth of my, or any, religion. But I want for you to find the way to lead the best life you can live. You have to search within yourself, and study the various religions I think.

1. I'm a nontraditional philosophical theist. The only religious community I might fit into would be Unitarian Universalism.
2. No. ROTFL.
3. I don't. It's the best, most honest and authentic position I can take based on my experience, reason, and intuition. But I really think that's the best we can do. There simply is no certainty.
4. You can't. But we could have some good conversations about it. I'm sure we'd learn from each other, and develop and deepen our perspectives.

You can never know a religion is true--it's all about your belief. I'm Baptist and I believe it's true, but I can ever know that. My religion provides answers for me, and it's what I choose to believe. I won't know until I die whether or not it's true.

Good questions, really. Religion is personal. Read all there is and make up your own mind instead of asking somebody else.
