Sin is anything not pleasing to God, so take these thoughts before God and ask Him "does this please you?" I think you will know the answer. You may have to spend time in prayer against these thoughts, weeks even. I've had to do this, I'm married for years now but thoughts were coming into my head of sex with other people and I prayed "Lord make me desire only my husband, make me think only of him" and after about a week of praying thru these thoughts they are gone. Now when I think of sex I think of my hubby. As a non married girl your mind should be on pure things.

Make Phillipians 4:8-9 your mantra for a while.

Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anythigng worthy of praise, let your mind well on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.

No ma'am. It is sin when it is actually committed, acted upon. There is scripture on that. It does say though that if a man looks on a woman in a lustful manner he has already sinned. Don't worry about that though, that's why Christ died for us. You should ask for forgiveness though. He knew we couldn't live up to the standard he set. But... spending time with Him and reading His Word will make you become like Him. You know if you spend alot of time with someone, you become like them before you know it. Don't fret, God knows your heart.

Yes its sin to lust or covet (10th commandment). The fact that we do is a testimony to our sinful hearts and proves our need to be saved from our sinful hearts. This is why when one is in Jesus they are given a pure righteousness that they did not earn but Christ did. Just try to have no sinful thoughts or desires to see. Its not possible. Even when we do somewhat good our hearts are proud of that which is a sin so our hearts continually condemn us. Only knowing our sin is forgiven in Christ and that are are righteous before God in His righteousness can we put our hearts at rest.

Well, Jesus said if you lust after a woman, you have committed adultery in your heart. I would say it's the same for females, if we lust after a guy. Yes, a thought can be sin too. That's why we need a savior!

And yes, jealously is a sin as one of the ten commandments says thou shalt not covet, and coveting is desiring something that belongs to someone else.

according to what someone said Jesus said ... yes. to think a sin is a sin. but of course that's how guilt based religions work. there is no way you for you not sin to so you MUST submit to the religious dogma in order to be forgiven for and saved from what is impossible not to do. it's a fine Catch 22 that has served the church hierarchies well for thousands of years. unavoidable guilt and fear of punishment has made many a preacher, bishop and pastor very wealthy.

Thinking of a sinful deed is exactly the same as having committed the deed. We have all sinned.

Thinking about and wanting to do something wrong is a sin, just as much as doing it, according to new testament.

yes you can sin by thought. It is not as serious as in deed but still something to work on. If thoughts come into your head unbidden and you dismiss them, it is not a sin. If they come into your head and you enjoy them and continue to think about them, that is a sin.

Christian will tell you it's wrong, but if thinking about sex was a sin, no one would ever get turned on to have it.....therefore no new little Christians. Thoughts are not wrong.

Jesus says once you have commited the act in your head you have commited the sin itself.
