When the rules are unfair?
When others are cheating?
When the government is a dictatorship?
When it's impossible to win otherwise?
Never?
When a life hangs in the balance?

This question is entirely up to your own interpretation. You may apply it to religion, games, any aspect of life, or something you have just made up. Entirely subjective. Go.

Muslims call it Lailatul Qadr or Night of power
Christian mystics call it the Dark Night of the Soul
Pentecostals call it the Baptism of the Holy Ghost
Catholics call it Holy Communion/Holy Eucharist
Buddhists call it Enlightenment
Hindus call it Moksha
Atheists call it Inspiration
It is one and the same experience produced in the brain of persons but shaped by the religion or noreligious culture in which they were brought up. It is no evidence for the existence of the divine; only evidence that your brain is working in a different mode.

A short while ago the question was asked "how happy are you right now?" Most people who answered gave their reasons for being happy outside influences. Does that mean that chance or luck, atleast in part determine happiness. Furthermore other cultures have different beliefs as to what is good and bad, people have been happy for reasons of pleasure, work, pain, people have even rejoiced over being beaten. So is your happiness controlled by what happens to you or by how you see what happens to you? and if the latter why are so many people unhappy, are they just prisoners of their culture and society?

According to the Theory of Fundamentalist Christianity, non-Christians will be punished by God in a place called "hell" or "lake of fire". This is based on a book called "The Holy Bible".

Supposedly the soul will be in "hell" for eternity.

Let's further suppose that eternity is 1 trillion years.

So the soul will be tortured for 1 trillion years because of a decision the soul made while on Earth, to not believe as a Christian.

The average life span is currently 70 years.

The ratio of punishment is 1 trillion units to 70 units.

Am I missing something?

out, tied them to little bags of candy and gave them away to my husband's coworkers. This year, we're separated, and I wouldn't do that at my office. Is there another witnessing idea for Halloween? Here's the poem:
Being a Christian is a lot like being a pumpkin...God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff - including the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for the entire world to see.

Wishing you a bountiful harvest of God's richest blessings!

As we all know this night is better than 1000 months. Please make the best of this night.
In my country, tonight is the 27th odd night of Ramadan and I’ve prayed the taraweeh prayers and watched on TV the live telecast of the Taraweeh prayers from Masjid al Haram in Makkah and now I’ll, inshaAllah pray Salat ul tasbeeh, recite Quran as much as possible and then supplicate for myself, my parents, all Muslims and for the whole humanity.
As the holy month is about end, let us all pray that this Ramadan of ours be successful and we receive the rewards of this special month, ameen.

That's all they want....just equality under the law. Why is that such a bad thing to fundies? They don't want to change your church, or allow human-animal marriages. They just want the same benefits allowed any other married couple.

I understand the thinking behind this. I understand it says this type of thing in the Bible.(though I am not sure where) I also understand that this 1=1000 is used to explain Genesis and why the Earth is millions of years old and the Bible only goes back 10,000 years at the most. The 6 days it took to creat the earth and it inhabitants, according to Christians, cant be taken as literal "days". Then explain this to me.
Genesis 1:3 Then God said, "Let there be light" and there was light
Gensis 1:4 Andd God sawe that it was good. Then he seperated the light from the darkness.
Genesis 1:5 God called the light "day" and the darkness "night" Together these made up one day.
That explains the concept of one day. Not 1000 years. But I will continue with more.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Personally I admire if you can say "admire" virgin Mary, I believe she was the purest woman in creation and we should all try to emulate her example. We are told in the Quran more about her character as a person and her cualities and devotion to God, and why she was choosen. I believe that any type of disrespect towards the virgin is intolerale. I saw a very disrespectful question early this afternoon and it really made me sad to hear such slurs...
But what are your feelings from what you have read about virgin Mary and her character ?

Does anyone else here suffer from Playahataitis? It is a condition marked by excessive and obessive flags and violations over innocent questions and answers. I have 3 ideas of whom my playa hater may be. Funny. I never waste my time reporting anybody. I can care less what anyone says. It ain't causing me any bodily harm. Anyone else have a haterade drinking stalker?

To the stalkers and Pre-K hall monitors...what is the purpose of being a lame tattle tale? I seriously wanted to know who saw the new Omen flick. It has to do with spiritual subjects. I asked it here. I asked if a pair of drawers with Jesus or Mo on them made them holy drawers. I guess I pissed off more Muslims. My bad. What? Do you guys have stock in Yahoo or something?

I have had it on my heart to become a foster parent and it's been on my heart for a long time. I finally picked up the phone and called the children's aid society and they'd like me to come for orientation on Monday. Any advice for me if I do become a foster parent? I'm a Christian and a singlemom with a 7 year old daughter, if that info helps. Thanks.

We're just the boys and girls
that think they always know
With answers for the world
The ambiguity shows
We're just the boys and girls
that dance with all their clothes
(we are the boys and the girls)
Hiding under the sheets
Believing nobody knows

To me these chorus perfectly describes everyone in this section.

What do you think?
