Are you kidding? Have you not been watching the region for the past couple of years? Some major teerorist factions have been trouncing around and giving them all a bad name and the rest are not yet protesting loudly enough to change the world's views. Add that to all the negative propaganda that rolls off the press regarding their treatment of women and websites that sow the mutilating of their children in the name of religion and I think you would know why they are under such scrutiny and perhaps they should be finding a way to change common perception instead of simply asking why we do not believe in Allah (PBUH) or Mohammad(PBUH). They spend a great deal of time telling us how peacful the religion is but as I said before the bombings of innocents and the jihad being dealt with now is being played more openly in the eyes of the world. Portray what you want the world to see and maybe their perception would change. When you are a basically secretive nation and do not speak very loudly on your own behalf, all anyone has to go by is what the one claiming to be Muslims and spreading hate in the name of Allah are saying. And it is a scary thing to hear.

There's many reasons, mainly mentioned below:

1-Wrong and bad deeds of Muslims who misunderstood Islam.

2-We, Muslims, were told by prophet Mohamed (Peace Be Upon Him) that when Muslims stick to Islam and Islamic teachings, they become a strong nation, otherwise they become a very weak nation that can be easily defeated, and this condition is independent of how many Muslims are there, how many and strong weapons they have. That's because Islam does not depend on the force to spread, people convert to Islam when they realize that it's the true religion that can lead people to the right way in this life and take them to the way of Heaven in the other life.
This fact was also proven through history, read in history if need an evidence.
Being weak, Islam's enemies found it easy to attack Islam and distort its reality in front of many nations around the world using every means espesially the media to spread false things about Islam and Muslims.

firstly because of 9/11. all the hijackers were from muslim countries. this makes people beleive that ISlam teaches muslims to become terrorists. Which is not true at all.
Secondly, probably Osama Bin Ladin and his followers have dared to threaten and have shown by actions that they resent the west and their foreign policies towards the muslim countries. I guess anyone who openly threatens the world super power will automatically come under scrutiny.

i am a muslim and i would like to answer your question. people look at us as terrorists because of 9/11, but we had nothing to do with it, so we don't understand why people are against us. Also, some people think we teach about fighting and violence, that is wrong. our religion is all i mean ALL for peace. violence is against our religion but we fight for our freedom. We are very peaceful people but no one wants to be around us.
