Christians have their Jesus and Muslims hold Mohammed to the highest esteem, but this article points out that atheism is false as it has no founder.
http://www.tencommandments.org/heathens5.shtml
for those that hate links, here is a blurb: Not even the most "educated" atheists - particularly those associated with the most elite universities throughout the world can truthfully inform you when and by whom atheism originated.
I'm pretty sure Ernestine Rose had the answer if anyone cares to quote it, but I was wondering if any of you had answers. Thanks

Many people said yes to my prior question, but does that mean that the child has a right to demand your services at saving her from drowning?

Myself, I can't see why they WOULDN'T be there---"heaven", by whatever name, just wouldn't be any FUN without loads of 4-foots, wonderful fish, and gorgeous birds (considering how much joy they give us here on earth). FWIW, I'm a Pagan (ex-Lutheran).

Can I get perspectives from other people as to their thoughts on this (and your faith background, if you're comfortable sharing)? Your personal beliefs may differ from what your faith community holds as true, by the way....I'd like a focus on _personal beliefs_ and the relig. background is mostly curiosity on my part. (Basically, I'm not all that interested in what "X denomination" specifically believes, but it'd be interesting to see how it shapes thoughts...)

Also, if you have any specific "holy book references" (any faith tradition) that definitely says _yes_, could you share them with all of us? Thanks!

(Sits back, curiously awaiting replies)

Influential evolutionist Richard Lewontin wrote that many scientists are willing to accept scientific claims that are against common sense "because we have a prior commitment to materialism." Materialism, in this sense, refers to the theory that physical matter is the only or fundamental reality, that everything in the universe, including all life, came into existence without any supernatural intervention in the process. Many scientists refuse even to consider the possibility of an intellegent Designer because, as Lewontin writes, "we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door." In this regard, sociologist Rodney Stark is quoted in Scientific American as saying: "There's been 200 years of marketing that if you want to be a scientific person you've got to keep your mind free of the fetters of religion." He further notes that in research universities "the religious people keep their mouths shut," while "irreligious people discriminate." According to Stark, "there's a reward system to being

I have seen over and over on here Evolutionists telling Creationists or Christians (whatever) that they will never consider another way other than God. Couldn't the same be said for them? We could never offer proof cause you would refuse to consider it.
I have also seen that there are "atheists" that are "recovering Christians" Well, its not Gods fault that man did you wrong...its mans fault, you just gave up. right?

Most Creationists were Evolutionists before they STUDIED and found the truth...I don't mean they studied the bible. So wouldn't that mean that all Christians can't be the idoits that some claim?

I came up with three questions for you guys, and I was very impressed with the responses. They were hard questions, and you guys answered them thoughtfully.

Question 1: What would you do if you had to choose between being killed and denying your faith?

This one split down the middle. Most Atheists said they would gladly say there was a God just to survive, whereas most religious people would refuse to renounce their beliefs.

Question 2: You are dying a slow death. Would you renounce your beliefs to end it quickly?

I was aSTOUNDED by this one. It blew my hypothesis sky-high. I never once expected that I would see a totally united front. Every single responder said that they would die the slow death.

Question 3: Would you renounce your beliefs and be killed for it in order to save someone else?

This one differed from one to another, but it was an Atheist who would take the bullet for anyone and a Christian who would not even renounce her faith for her child.

Please discuss.

What do you think is going on in heaven?

What do you think is going on in hell right now?

What do you think you'll be doing in heaven or hell when you die?

Ok I know there are a lot of people here that are all bitter at God for different reasons in reference to premature deaths.

Ok starting with exodus. THe killing of the firstborns by the "Angel of death"
Ok I think you guys are forgetting something.
He is a fallen angel just like Lucifer.
Ok so it says in Bible that when Jesus died on the cross he took the keys to hell and death with him. It is not God's will for anyone to be taken prematurely but only Christians have control over this somewhat. As Christians we can rebuke the angel of death the same as we can any other demon. We plead the blood of Jesus over them. We plead the cross. Demons must obey Christians because we are children of the King. You see God means for his Christians to die peacefully ushered into heaven by God's angels.
Non Christians however when they die are ushered into hell by the Angel of death Satan's angel. I hope that clears up the God's will thing. His will for all of us is a full life.
Truth in love

Only for christians believing in evolution

ECCLESIASTES 8:17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it ; yea further; though a wise man think to know it , yet shall he not be able to find it .

2PETER 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
