It would be fairly easy for God to prove that he does exist. If he is omniscient (all-knowing), he knows exactly what would convince each and every one of us. He knows what we would accept as proof. He doesn't offer it. In fact, he doesn't offer anything at all. While of course it's impossible to prove that he doesn't exist, I'd say his failure to give us any evidence is a strong indicator in that direction.

By the way, to all the posters who point to the universe/life/the cell as "proof", even if it were true that none of these could be here without a god (which isn't at all evident, but let that pass), how do you get from "there is a creator" to "the creator is the Christian god as described in the bible"? There could be a god who created everything, but bears no relation at all to the Christian god.

You will find no proof that God exists... That is why they call it Faith... Believing in something that you cannot prove or have no control over. People believe in God because they don't have all the answers and they feel that there has to be a beginning, middle and end to this wonderful thing that we call life. Many people don't believe in God. To them I say fine. Just try to live a life where you respect and treat others the same way that you would like to be treated yourself. Remember there are also many out there who try to tell you that theirs is the only True way.
Those people are more interested in power than God... Stay clear of them.... They prey on the uniformed and uneducated. They take your money under the pretense of spreading God's word but in reality they use it to accumulate wealth and political influence.

Yeah man... I'm still waiting for proof that he doesn't exist. That is the harder question. Take apart a watch into it's many pieces and then throw it on the ground. Did it make a watch? How can nothing blow up and create this amazing universe? I challange someone to prove to me that God doesn't exist. It can't be done

I might be able to get you started. What kind of proof do you need, historic or scientific?
There is no way to prove for sure that God DOES exist, just as there is no way to prove for sure that God does NOT exist.
But here are a couple things to keep in mind:
The fact that you're asking (if you really want to know, that is, and you're not just looking for the easy "there is no God" type of answer) is evidence in itself that there is a God.
There is also scientific evidence:
1. The complexity of our DNA codes. There is just no way for them to be created, on their own, without some kind of catalyst.
2. Once scientists broke down the cells of all life on Earth, they found that each was comprised of quarks, which is sound.
God spoke, and it came into being.
3. Frederick Hoyle, one of the top scientists and astronomers of the last century, conducted a study into the probability of one single-cell life form being produced by random chance. His research led him the conclusion that there is a chance of one in 10 to the 40,000th power. In science, anything over 1 in 1050 is considered impossible.

There are so many more reasons, but I figure this is enough. If you would like to know more, may I recommend some books for you? Here goes:
Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh MacDowell. When he first started the book, he was an atheist who was setting out to prove the Bible wrong. What he found compelled him to become a Christian.
Just about anything by Lee Strobel. He has a whole series that prove the possibility of God, using scientific evidence.

Good luck, and keep searching!

Good question. The answer to it will all depend on what you mean by "proof", and how you define/determine "God". The secret to getting the answer you seek is understanding the question that you ask.

Some people find that by following a religion or spiritual path, their search is somehow "over" and they no longer need to search as they feel that they have found what they were looking for.

Others may take a lifetime searching for what you seek and never find it.

I would say that the best way to search for this question is to sit quietly in a peaceful setting as often as possible, preferably in nature. Step away from all preconceived ideas, all concepts that you've ever encountered in your life.

Don't think, or try to force the question too much. And beware of people or religions that promise to "give" you God without asking for your own ideas or insight.

I believe that God (or however you choose to refer to the Divine Force: Great Spirit, Mother Nature, Source of All Things, Truth, etc) is always available.. but most people (including you and me) have gotten so wrapped up in searching and thinking and carrying out our daily activities that we've forgotten how to look for God.

Good luck in your search!

evidence of God is all around us ...from the beauty of a flower to a still small voice telling you to do the right thing. You have to remember God is a spirit. If you want proof, the bible says God inhabits the praises of his people...try worshiping God with all your heart and see what happens. Also try praying and watch God answer your prayer. Not only does he exist but he is God almighty..:) The wind is not seen but you know it's there.

I am sure that after you die you will become aware of the truth about God , life , and everything. I believe what the bible tells us which is that the entire inhabited earth is being misled and kept in blind ignorance of the sacred secrets of Divine Truth.
If you die without having come to truly know God then you will receive a resurrection to life where you shall have an opportunity to prove on what side you wish to take your stand. Then you will be forced to reckon with the knowledge and the respect due God

It's a Catch 22 situation. You'll never experience God's presence until you're willing to assume that God exists and open up a channel of communication with God e.g. pray/meditate. The presence of God seems to be revealed as we take the initiative to get into a relationship with God. That's the best I can do - I'm not very religious, but I am aware of the presence of God in my life.

Not to be a bummer, but does it really matter? My uncle is a preist in the catholic church (and not one of the bad ones - if you know what I mean), and he gave me the best advice I have ever gotten about religion in general. I was questioning my faith a long time ago, as I still often do, and I asked him how he can be so sure that there is a god, or that he is practicing the right faith or that we are doing this for any reason at all.
He said to me, "It doesn't matter what you beleive, as long as you beleive in something. Because, at the end of the day, I dont know, and you dont know and no one really knows for sure, but wouldnt you rather beleive in something and die and find out that nothing is there than beleive in nothing and die and find out there is something? And in that beleif, if you help people out of it, and you better the world even the tiniest bit because you helped get a stranger's car out of the snow or mowed a shut-in's grass and made their day, does it really matter whether there is a god when you die? Because it is in the act of beleif that we motivate ourselves to action and it is in this action that we make ourselves and the lives of others better. That is what really matters in this life."
So I guess, in a way, if we just beleive that it is important to beleive that there is something better than ourselves, than we strive to be like that thing and therefore make ourselves and everyones lives better. If that is living rightly and that gets you into (if there is one) God's good graces, then it is worth it. If there is not a god, at least it gives you a chance to become better while you are here.

For starters, you can look at man. The human hand alone has more than 200 bones in it. The body is amazing.

If a few molecules were out of kilter the planet earth would not be able to sustain life. We have water, food, air to breathe. Look at the seasons and how the planets revolve in their orbits - their precision. Someone created all this. AND ... these observations are physical. Imagine if you put your trust in God for the spiritual!
