A lot of what you said is right, the history of the mideval church is full of bad stuff...but I don't uderstand how sex just between a husband and wife is "unatural" or leads to "lots of STDs". Can you explain that a little better?

I don't think that Christians can be held accountable for everything you've mentioned. Who knows what the circumstances were back in those days.
As far as the abstinence, your body was a gift from God. You should treat it with respect. There wouldn't be any STD's, HIV, or even as many broken marriages if people would have been monogamous. Lust is what caused that, and that's not what God ever intended.
If you get confused on Scripture, try reading the Living Bible. For some, it's easier to understand.

1. There have been bad people in Religion that have done bad things. True.
2. Abstinence causes STD's? Off the wall False, (read that out loud) LOL
3. The crusades were a series of wars between Christians and Muslims. True (See #1 above)
4. Adam and Eve may seem Childish to you, you are free to believe or not to believe. A relationship with God does require at least some faith, True, does this prove God false? No.
You do as you wish, as for my family, we shall follow God.
Peace!

1. Evolution cannot be proved, they trace us back to monkeys and beyond that I get either Minerals, or sea animals that evolved into mammals.
2. Abstinence is not only bound to Christians
3.S.t.d.'s are usually spread by those that fornicate, which is not a Christian value
4. Show me the verse where it says the sun is stable and the earth revolves?
5. the Catholic church doesn't represent all Christians you may want to narrow your question next time
6. just going strictly by history non Christians like Hitler to killed Jews, and now Kim Jung IL who is a Atheist are far more brutal sorry
In conclusion you might be able to get away with your false theory's with the weak minded . but I am king of Crusade and fools like you are just entertainment lol

I think it is good to question the questionable actions of church under the guise of Christianity. Church is run by people who are very far from being Godly. They are more cult like than Christain like to me- you have to pay to be there( If you don't tith, you are looked down upon) and they keep you coming by putting fear in you. Oh, and don't think for yourself in a church lest they will call you sacrilegious. As far as all the stories, don't forget they were written thousands of years ago, translated and mistranslated, and were meant to be parables not a literal translation which many people think are literal. Anyway, that is what I think, and you don't need to go through anyone to have a personal connection with GOD.

As a Muslim I believe that the core of Christianity is really love and peace and the Bible was the book given from God..but we add to all this that the old church corrupted Christianity..that's the reason of the wide gap between Muslims and Christians.
And the acts of those people from the dark ages can't be taken against God.

I think that what churches do or their leaders do have nothing to do with God.I think that all churches have their own beliefs and rules that do not come from God b/c Gods laws are clear in the commandments and Jesus said to love one another as yourself.I think that the argument of whose religion is the one that will get you into heaven is a crock.I don't think it matters if Adam was black or white, whether Jesus was black or white b/c in the end we all die and have to answer for our deeds here on earth.I think most of these arguments are a distraction and can keep people away from worship.you are your church and your family is your charity.

Let me ask you a question,
Jesus teaches that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves, help others, feed others when hungry, and died for his friends right? If "the church" dose evil what does that say?
My answer is that "the church" that did those things are NOT following Christ's teachings. Just my opinion. And Jesus will spit them out and say he never knew them.

Yeah, all that was really bad.
But Christianity also gave us the desire for social justice, charitable institutions, free hospitals, relative sexual equality (compared to the ancient world and to polygamous cultures), the idea of human rights, the abolition of slavery and the civil rights movement. It wasn't all bad. A lot of the things we like best about our culture came from our Christian heritage.

There were many people who abused the power given to them by the Church, but just becaue people abused Christianity does not mean Christianity is wrong.
