Are we not saying those who do not fear God are outsiders, not to be trusted, not saved, not one of "us"?

Isn't this a manifestation of the 1st century Jewish belief that strangers were unwelcome and unclean, that there should be no mingling between Jews and Gentiles.

Wasn't this matter resolved in the early Christian church by teaching the Jewish fear of God to the Gentiles, thus creating a bridge for the Jews who believed in Christ to accept Gentiles as kindred spirits within the church of Christ?

Is this not why Fear is so prevalent in a religion of Love?

Isn't it amazing that in spite of the tragedy the Amish have endured, their faith is so strong that not only have they forgiven the killer, but have asked the family of the gunman to remain living there to continue their friendship and receive the Amish communities support.
What are your feelings about Amish culture?

I am a struggling christian. I can feel that the Lord is working in my life and doing some wonderful things. There are some personal things that I know that I need to work on. It has really been a rough year for me. My husband is not a believer. He argues with me all the time. I try not to argue with him but it is like he trys to argue with me on purpose. I try to pray and try to resist getting into a fight, but last night it didn't work out to good and we got into a big argument. We are fighting almost everyday. Not all the time about God, most the time about a lot of stupid little stuff. It seems like he is just getting meaner and meaner. He says things to me on purpose to hurt my feelings. He makes me cry and he doesn't care. He doesn't beat me or anything, it just that he seems heartless sometimes. I am determined to make this marriage work, we have been married for almost 7 years. Part of the reason why I struggle in my relationship with the Lord is because me and h

The example of Jesus, as far as GOD is concerned, is the same as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him, "Be,"
and he was.(Muhammad, the essence of) the Truth is from your Lord. Never have any doubt about it.If anyone argues with you, despite the knowledge you have received, then say, "Let us summon our children and your children, our women and your
women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us invoke GOD's curse upon the liars."Lo! This verily is the true narrative. There is
no Allah save Allah, and lo! Allah, He verily is, is the Mighty, the Wise. And if they turn away, then lo! Allah is Aware of (who are) the corrupters.Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O people of the scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is
just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah.

...rather than Love?

Why must people believe we must be inspired to fear God's wrath to act properly, rather than believe we must be inspired by the Love Jesus taught to act properly?

Why the stick, and not the carrot?

What does this say of humanity and its potential to Love?

What does this say about a belief we can only control ourselves if we Fear, rather than Love?

generation has a more difficult time blindly believing in God?

The vast majority of elderly people I know, have absolutely no doubt of God's existance. I tend to have many doubts though because of scientific evidence which explains everything in the Bible. For example, the plagues in Egypt (Moses) can all be explained by a volcano nearby but far enough away that the people of Egypt were unaware of it.

Ok so here is my question. Puting all my believes beside. One thing i do not understand is that if we have free will to do what we want how does prayer work? I mean if you pray for a family member or a friend to change there ways doesnt that exclude there free will?
Here are some conclusions I came up with if free will is true.

God puts the thought into there mind to change after you pray for them (but that doesnt answer that with faith all things can be done)

God puts it in you to talk to them about changing.

But either of these make to much sense to me. Does anyone else have any opnion?

I really like their elegant but understated black and white fashion theme. It has an air of mystery about it. Plus the habit which I think is just totally cool and hip. No one else wears anything like that.

I also believe that men find nuns very appealing and erotic for the very fact that they can't have them. I would really like that power over men.

How do I apply to become and nun and what are my chances of being accepted?

A terrible fire broke out, endangering lives.

A fire fighting team arrived with their equipment.

Should they:
1. pray for divine intervention until God shows up and extinguishes the flames?

2. break out the equipment, hoses, and ladders and fight the blaze themselves?

How often do you witness injustice, cruelty, or disaster and act to ease the suffering, and how often do you do nothing more than pray for divine intervention and wait for God to show up?

no obnoxious answers or else I'll report you! This is really serious!

I'm a Christian but I haven't been praying for a very long while. Last time I prayed (about a year ago) I, very ardently, asked God for something and he gave it to me. Thing is...I had promised him I'd start going to church again on the same week but...I didn't fulfill my promise. In fact, I've never set foot in church for the past 7yrs! Now when I start praying again my prayers aren't answered cuz I've got this tiny voice at the back of my head saying he won't answer it.
I think my faith isn't what it used to be. What can I do to get rid of that discouraging voice and how can I restore my faith?
