Ok so here is my question. Puting all my believes beside. One thing i do not understand is that if we have free will to do what we want how does prayer work? I mean if you pray for a family member or a friend to change there ways doesnt that exclude there free will?
Here are some conclusions I came up with if free will is true.

God puts the thought into there mind to change after you pray for them (but that doesnt answer that with faith all things can be done)

God puts it in you to talk to them about changing.

But either of these make to much sense to me. Does anyone else have any opnion?

I don't believe that we can pray someone else into changing their ways. We can pray for Godly people to surround that person.
We can pray for help to change our own reaction to the other person.
However, they have free will, and all we can do is ask God put the right people around them to help, and to help US react better and to use better words to help them.

pray is so complicated issue
not just with free will
no with dusteny too
first
every one is free to choose his own path even in belive in god
when some one make asin and another and so on his heart is getting worest or his spirit or soul what ever the name
when u pray to him it's not about mind it's about cleaning and make his soul or his heart back clean god just show him the way and he is free to choose
________
but when u pray to ur self for succed for example
some ppl say if i supose to sucess so pray have no use
and if i suppose to fail also pray won't change my dusteny
not true
cuz pray is one of the reasone of succes
so it's written that
x will sucess if she done 1 + 2 + ........+ pray
but if u will fail
also u'll fail
but ur pray will help u in some thing else and keep u close to ur god

Since God already knows the future, as well as every outcome, and since free will is a a reality, prayer first and foremost provides a way for God to reveal to us exactly how to align our will with his.

God already knew you would pray for your friend, and he already planned to answer your prayer ... or not.

No matter how it comes out in the end, prayer is always a beneficial exercise, because it's good for us, and it pleases God.

It works. Just do it.

We all have free will to make our own choices. And we should be praying for our lost friends and loved ones. God will answer those prayers, meaning he will convict a lost person's heart. But even when He deals with them, it's still their free choice of whether to except Him into their heart or not. If anyone goes to Hell, it's only because they exercised their freedom of choice, not to except God.

No such thing as "free will", its a way of turning a feeling into a manipulative trick, causing you to believe you chose your religion freely. When you really didn't. Family and social pressures are why you accepted your supernatural teachings. Your mind naturally rejects things that aren't proven. For pure survival.

I judge people by their heart, not their level of education or talent. I believe in encouraging others and helping them find the greatness within themselves, greatness they might not have been aware of until someone pointed it out to them. I believe that our inner world should be clean because the outside world is not. I believe that everything we think, say and write either adds to or detracts from our happiness and the happiness of everyone we come into contact with, so the most loving thing we can do for our friends and loved ones is to strive to be happy and emotionally consistent ourselves so they will have one less burden in their lives - the burden of worrying about us. Yay!

Praying for God to change a person does not infringe on their free will. God may pour out grace upon them as a result of your prayer, but they still must accept that grace and respond to it. God isn't going to change them by force, against their will. We actually ask God to help them change, not to change them.

Prayer shows a willingness to trust God for your answers. Ask God. If it's His will for you...
Remember there are 3 different and distinct answers: Yes, No, and Wait.
Accepting those answers shows obedience, which is better than sacrifice.

each individual has free will to worship or not as they see fit as long as they do not infringe upon the free will and rights of others. we can discuss everything and everything we desire and if I change my attitude and belief system I am exercising my free will to do so. but I am changing because I want to do so after receiving more wisdom and knowledge than I had before. remember the old saying " you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. "

Prayer is when you are talking to God & you breakthrough from the natural to the supernatural/spiritual realm.
The will of people is strong. God gives us mercy & grace.
Even though we do have own will & we have a choice to do what is right & wrong..God still extends his grace & mercy unto his creation.
So it is upon God's grace & mercy that our prayers are heard.
