I don't like the Bible, but I've read it three time, specifically because it disagrees with what I would assume to be truthful. Should I be seeking to limit your use of it, since I don't agree with it?

Why is it that when ever the "which came first the chicken or the egg?" question is asked people always say the chicken because God made the chicken? Why can't christians beleive that things evolved and that maybe god did make them but over a long period of time that included evolution? Is it impossible to believe that God created and allowed for evolution? I've read some of the bible and evolution isn't too hard to believe after that.
I guess the real question I am asking is why some christians take the bible so literally, but won't follow all of the things said in it, like love thy neighbor and turn the other cheek?

Why should everyone else that came after them be condemned because of two people. Don't you think a just God would judge everyone on their own merits? The concept of original sin as taught by Catholocism is beyond my comprehension.

Wouldn't Jesus approve of us more if we looked at his teachings with open eyes and question the sources. We shouldn't believe out of fear of all this 'going to hell cr ap' or believe just because it is the norm.

Sure, Genesis seems to say that God created them. But does Genesis say that no Human Beings had ever been created before them?

If Jesus goes down to Earth one day, and all of the humans were asked to ask Jesus just one question (Just one question), what will you ask?

Me? I'll probably ask if he really did have a child with Mary Magdalene... hehe... just to stop the issue...

She's protesting something she doesn't believe in but is being forced to have her tax dollars fund. This IS free speech. She is excercizing her right to speak her mind and have some say in the way her confiscated money is spent.

She is not trying to prevent Rowling from excersizing her first ammendment rights.
She is not trying to prevent Rowling from speaking or publishing - that is the definition of a "ban"
Furthermore, she is trying to control the material her children have access to which is her right as their custodian (assuming she has children at the school system in question).

I don't see how anyone can rule out the possibility that the Flying Spaghetti Monster does a mean imitation of the Christian God and was the actual inspiration behind the men writing the Bible. I suppose the FSM would have had to fib a little about "one true God" although maybe through some technicality the FSM is not considered a God but more of a sub-God. What do you think? Is it at least possible?

Contradictions in the bible:

Matt 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (NIV)

Matt 6:3-4 "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secert. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (NIV)

I am going to make a donation to a local charity-I really am- do I do it and tell everyone just not my left hand ot tell nobody and write the check left handed? The bible is confusing what do I do?

Genesis seems to discuss the creation of human life on earth. But I have never seen a hint or suggestion that human life was not also created on other planets.

I was listening to Mike Gallagher at work. I dont like Mike Gallagher, but his show comes on after the local show I listen too, and that psycho nut was on saying that her church is giong to protest the Amish Childrens Funerals who died in Lancaster County. So Mike Gallagher is going to give then an hour of air time in exchange for them to not hurt these families even more.

What do you guys think of this? I see the point that he is just feeding into this, i dont like the guy but I see the point to not want the families to go this. I wouldnt want these people calling these little girls whores and telling them they are in hell.

I dont know, what does everyone think??
