Why is it that when ever the "which came first the chicken or the egg?" question is asked people always say the chicken because God made the chicken? Why can't christians beleive that things evolved and that maybe god did make them but over a long period of time that included evolution? Is it impossible to believe that God created and allowed for evolution? I've read some of the bible and evolution isn't too hard to believe after that.
I guess the real question I am asking is why some christians take the bible so literally, but won't follow all of the things said in it, like love thy neighbor and turn the other cheek?

Those that insist on the litteral creation simply don't recognize that God can and does have the power to create by a process of evolution. The Bible clearly state that God created Man but doesn't state how.....therefore God could use a process of evolution if He desires.

You have got a point. As you have not mentioned that this is a question is only for Christians, I am writing here, although I am a Muslim.
If you take the scientific discoveries (yet done), you can't tell whether Chicken came first or the egg. If you go through The Holy Bible, The Holy Quran, or any book of any religion, you won't even find there which came first. Now, to answer this question, one have to make hypothetical assumptions with more possibilities than other.
Even if you believe in The Theory of Evolution, and put the relgious facts asside, you would probably say that Chicken came first. That's simple. There are more possibilities that chicken evolved from some other especies. Egg only can not produce a chicken, if there is no Hen to Hatch. This is also possible that chicken is infact a cross between 2 different species, in which case egg would probably be the first as a cross between two differerent species.
This is a matter of philosophy. In philosophy when you have just 2 answers for a question, you try to estimate the chances of both and consider one having more chances to be correct. Having the knowledge of the discoveries yet made, I would vote for "Chicken". (I may be wrong, but still I will eat chicken.)

Aphids reproduce both sexually and asexually. They are considered one of the bridges between life with cell division and life with the exepelling of an egg or reproductive cell.
This is why the Catholic and Jews approved of Darwin. HIS theories (not they hybrid ones) definately point to the fact that the creature exsited first, then comes the egg.
Same as with God. God created all
Natural Selection created all
An Amoeba grew into a man and then a woman produced eggs to make other humans.
Once again, Science reflects the Bible.

In fact, Christians who oppose scientific truth do not take the Bible literally. The Bible doesn't say anything whatsoever about the development of species after the initial creation, so how could it be in opposition to scientific facts on that issue? Their opposition to known facts is due to their fanciful interpretations of the Bible, not to anything literal. This is shown by the fact that other Christians who also revere and use the Bible, but interpret it more accurately, have no problem with accepting the plain evidence provided by science. Truth cannot conflict with truth. If known facts conflict with someone's personal interpretations of the Bible, that merely demonstrates their inability to interpret Scripture properly.

better yet, if evolution is authentic which developed first? The fowl or the egg? a minimum of in the creation account the fowl replaced into created first. that still relates to different existence kinds. Did guy evolve from a sprint one right into a grown up or evolve right into a grown up first?
