she says they are evil and are trying to influence children to go over to the Wiccan religion. Has anyone else heard this nonsense? Harry Potter books do have magic, mythical things and it is a "school of witchcraft and wizardry", but the books also teach children to believe in themselves and to fight for what's right.

If a person is going to be against something, you would think that they would have all the facts about it before being totally against it. That's called being INFORMED. Here's the link, read for yourselves:

So, what do you guys think of it?

First off, I have no wish to offend anyone here so I apologise in advance if this is the case. I'd also like to state I'm looking for open-minded, serious answers.

Having glanced through the bible it seems as if some of the books (notably Ezekiel and Revelation) were written whilst the author was experiencing the effects of a drug-induced hallucination; many of the things they describe indeed seem to be in the same league as the experiences of some of my friends who have taken Mushrooms and LSD. I know hallucinogens were avaliable during this period of history; could it be such prophesies were actually the result of narcotic-inspired visions?

Thanks

In order to become the best person I can be, I am always checking myself and try to stay aware of what I need to improve on. My question is do you do this? And what is it that you are trying to improve about yourself? For me personally I'm working on my patience....for some reason that's just a difficult one for me. Just curious for your answers.

2 Timothy 3
Godlessness in the Last Days
1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

....to want to move out in to the middle of nowhere and live apart from society? At the risk of sounding like a nay-sayer I think society is slowly falling apart and I really just want to get out, live my own way without interruptions or daily news of more bombings, wars, street violence and intolerance.

I've tried my best to do as much good as I can but it is like trying to hold back the tide.

What do you think? Serious answers only please.

Thanks

There are many arguments regarding abortion both from different faiths and what the law of the land takes to be right. However, all these, are just expressions of peoples opinions and what people think is right. My question seeks for absolute truth and only truth not hypotheses or abstractions of the human mind.

Alright so we've figured it out. Nobel prizes have been awarded. The universe started with a Big Bang. It's a good theory. I like it. But I think it only make sense when you recognize that something had to cause that event to occur. And since that cause had to be outside the universe, do you really think it's such a stretch to say it was created? Given the multitude of precise conditions all the way down to the gravitational constant of the universe (think about it) that HAD to be exactly what they are for life to occur ANYWHERE in the universe much less here on Earth, I'd say theistic theory is a good one.

But hey if you think the universe randomly just blinked into existence why shouldn't the universe just blink out of existence? Maybe one day you'll wake up (or for that matter won't wake up) and the universe along with you and everything it will just suddenly cease to exist just like it suddenly started to exist.

I guess I just don't have the faith to be an atheist.

Mass teaches:
The living and the dead do not have their sins forgiven through the suffering of Christ unless Christ is still offered for them daily by the priests.
Christ is bodily present in the form of bread and wine where Christ is therefore to be worshiped.
Is this not indeed saying precisely that Mass is basically nothing but a denial of the one sacrifice and suffering of Jesus Christ and a condemnable idolatry?
Please, I would like to see what your take on Mass is. Please be respectful, I'm just wanting truths.
