Since food came from a living thing,i consider it Gods own handiwork,isay a short prayer bfore eating is it ok
What do you think even though i'm not perfect i cant help but think of where this food came from ------when i was a child all through grade school 1950s --- 60s i did not get to eat lunch at school because my parents were poor and i did not want the other kids see me getting free lunches so i ate nothing and sit at the table while the other kids ate and they served good meals back then ,i've never forgotten that and i will always feed anyone who is hungry even if i hate him and i feel its wrong to mees up food if you do you may go hungry some day so i will always prepare food thats clean and filling it is almost sacared to me //

of course it is ok to pray over a meal. the Lord wants us to come to Him at anytime and for anything .

The death was not good or evil but a gift from the gods. Some may live while others go hungry. I believe it is good to pay tirbute to the life that ended so that your own may continue.

Thanking a god for food I bought with money that I worked for and prepared myself is ludicrous
Now if some food suddenly appears on my table out of nowhere I'll thank him for it.

um ok...if it makes you feel better about eating dead animals..whatrever....and you didnt eat lunch in school becuse you were ashamed? isnt that a sin...shouldnt you not care what others think about your family? didnt kids notice that you didnt eat at all and assume that you were poor anyway?

Giving thanks is always OK. I'll bet you have many other things throughout your day to give thanks for. You do not have to be perfect to be thankful to God. You can do it silently or aloud, whatever makes you comfortable.You do not have to be a part of a formal designated religion to pray or give thanks.

Nothing wrong with giving thanks for anything at all. Just remember you do not have to give thanks to a god though. Children perhaps should give thanks to their parents for the food they bought them. And cooked for them. Adults perhaps should thank themselves for working and getting money to buy food.
