Contradictions in the bible:
Matt 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (NIV)
Matt 6:3-4 "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secert. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (NIV)
I am going to make a donation to a local charity-I really am- do I do it and tell everyone just not my left hand ot tell nobody and write the check left handed? The bible is confusing what do I do?

Keep it.
God loves the person who gives cheerfully.
2nd Corinthians 9:7
In context:
"You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
You are the light of the world--like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see.
Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all.
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
"Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them.
Matthew 5:13-17
Not about alms, is it?

It means, let your actions speak louder then your words, but don't give to the needy if you're only doing it to be seen. If you help out a charity, do it because you want to, not because someone might see it and think well of you. Let your good actions shine like a light, but don't do it for greedy reasons.

Your light will shine if you donate in secret. The Farther will reveal this before men and u will be praised..
Similar to: When u go in a meeting and u see an empty chair up front dont sit on it, because the rightful owner will come and say to u, ' Why u sit on my chair ? Sit at the back!'. Instead prefer to sit at the back and when there is an empty chair at the front they will call u to sit upfront and u will be priased.

It means, shine a light in someone's eye so you can do something left-handed.
Isn't there something in the Bible about being left-handed=evil. What did those medievil people come up with that? Hmmm...

As a Muslim i can tell you that right hand or left, it is better to be charitable without boasting about it. In other words if you're gonna give, do so in private. God Almighty likes a humble & generous believer.

I would hope that you can recognize the difference between being humble and giving God the glory as opposed to living a life filled with kindness and godliness towards others.

Well, if actions speak louder than words, I'd say you have to forego the donation altogether. Use the money to buy yourself a video game or something.

You are to be charitable and tithe from the Heart, if it is not, it means absolutely nothing, and God knows the difference. You don't get to heaven because you are a good boy and do good works.
