I see this all the time. Is there some psychological reason to demote Jesus to being an infant? Is it to pluck at the heartstrings or win children over? Does anyone else think that this is bizarre?

As in, the end of the world and the return of the Lord, Jesus...

And if so, doesn't that allow you to be an absolutely horrible person with no regard for consequences? I know that the bible doesn't say anything even remotely close to this, but I have known some completely horrible people who seemed to abide by this philosophy--lied, stole, embezzled, participated in orgies( and bragged about them) cheated on their spouses, attempted suicide for attention, sexually harassed teenage girls--the list goes on. The worst part was that these people never missed church and showed no remorse for what they had done. Should these people feel they are forgiven? Prefer christians to answer this one--we know that the people I spoke of are hypocrites, so save that answer, please

Just a question to understand.

If your child was born with a disfigurement that needed surgery, would you......

a) Blame God or something else (No belief necessary)

b) Blame bad genetics from your family tree

c) Try to think of it as Evolution

Just sincere answers about your decision.

I have a theory that atheists wouldn't change how they live for the most part, but Christians, if convinced that God didn't exist, would have to change their life. But, I'm curious how they might? Would they find it meaningless, or would they find new meaning?

Under Islam, as a man, does he have the "obligation" or right, to force his decision upon his unwilling immediate family?

I told you all before about my pet vietnamese pot bellied pig named Gordon, who was badly burned in an accident with a barbeque (you guys helped me out that time with my Yahoo Question).

Gordon is intelligent. My wife and I raised him as an orphan, after his parents were eaten at a motorcycle convention.

We have taught him to communicate with us. He can express over 1000 words and phrases by scratching his trotters on the ground. Many of the words are in pig so we dont understand them. We have conversations. He talks a lot about nuts.

Gordon lives in a caravan out the back. He can switch on the TV and likes to watch soap operas and religious TV, especially Rev Falwell. He is the spiritual type, like me.

Are human beings alone conscious, or are other creatures also conscious?

Do you think that Gordon has a soul?

If you think that theism is illogical, explain why. Saying that it is illogical without showing how is illogical in and of itself, a claim without justification.

How is it right to damn the whole human race for the behavior of one or two people? Is that a loving act? And why would that set up the whole premise of us having to be saved from ourselves? Does anyone else think that this is cruel and unethical?

I work with a brilliant moslem surgeon and it seems like he's lost a few pounds since fasting. Does everyone lose weight during Ramadan? I think I would make up for the lunch I missed at dinner and replace all those calories before going to bed!! LOL

It doesnt matter what God(s) in which you believe please just chime in so i can get a running tally. I would like to know who the moral majority is on the site. Thanks. I will post the results when i am done.
