Why does God have needs? And if He doesn't then why would He create us if He didn't need anything from us? I mean if He loves us then He is vunerable because anything that feels compassion also feels pain. Why would God want to feel pain if He controls the universe? But if God chooses to feel pain so that He can also feel love, wouldn't that make Him not all-powerful?

my friend is a roman catholic and she wants to marry a guy who is a hindu(4rm india i guess). is it right? i mean is it agaist the catholic beliefs to marry a guy who does not belong to your religion? is there proof for this in the biblE? is it really a big thing if u inter marry?

For example, let's say you're an innocent child living in china, always brought up and tought to be a buddhist, you know of no other way, and that is what everyone around you considers right.
you have never killed anyone, or commited any so called "sins"
yet, from what i understand, would you still go to hell simply because you're not following the path of a christian? I'm just so confused, religion can be such a heated topic I know, but I was hoping someone could clear this up for me, I would very much appreciate it.

I had a friend (past tense) that thought it should be perfectly acceptable for us to stay friends even though she believed that we were going to two different places when we die.
She didn't even GET why that might make me not want to be friends with her...

Anyone else been through this? How did you handle it if at all?

By the way - no I am not self conscious and wrong. I am perfectly happy with my chosen path and do not need to repent for anything.

Even being agnostic is not atheist... agnostics believe in something, they just don't feel the need to define it for your benefit.

And why are Buddhist considered atheist.... Buddha was a human... they might believe in God as well. But they might not want to join your religion after you have just insulted their beliefs.

Did you know the whole Christian Easter egg hunting thing is pagan? Well, it's true. Its practiced during Ostra.....and the whole decorating the house up using mistletoe and such during the Christmas season is also a pagan tradition.

I can't bring myself to think of homosexuals as sinners.
I can't bring myself to think that abortion is wrong in all cases.
I can't bring myself to think euthanasia is wrong in all cases.

I believe in freedom for anybody, as long as they don't hurt others.

Why on earth should I accept Jesus into my heart, and with that start to condemn my few gay friends, that 14 year old raped girl who wants an abortion, that very sick 91 year old man who is begging for euthanasia, etc, etc. ?

I think alot of Christians don't understand that we as non-christians feel like we are having it shoved down our throats because they don't know how often we get it from them...

Like if there is only 1 Buddhist family in a mostly Christian community, then guess who all the neighbors are going to try to do their missionary work on...

Like there jealous of us because we have free will and we can sin and still be forgiven and they cant. also that they were created to live a life of servitude against their will. This isnt from the movie, but dont u think they hate that the saved will judge them one day?

I remember when I was little going to church and the choir used to always sing a song that went "What you gonna do when the worlds on fire..where you gonna run...where you gonna hide? Rain down fire its gonna rain.." Anyway that song used to give me nightmares. As a kid I had dreams about that song and also dreams about being chased by the Devil. I guess my question is for those who have children and even those who dont, how old were your children when you talked to them about God and what all did you say? Those who dont have any children what age is best to start talking to your kids about God?? I think every kid should go to church and learn about God but I think there are some things kids shouldnt hear until they get older.
