God in fact DID come down as a human. The preacher you refer to may be famous but He is not Christian. The only things God cannot do are things which are against His divine nature, or which would violate His previous decisions.

In the first category, God cannot learn or realize anything or forget anything because by nature He is omniscient (all-knowing). God cannot do evil because by His nature He is all-good. He cannot lie because by his nature He is the Truth. He cannot lack the power to do something because by His nature He is omnipotent (all-powerful).

In the second category for example, God cannot deny the free will of human beings because He has already declared that human beings will have free will. He cannot abandon the Church because He has already declared and promised that He will be with the Church until the end of time. He cannot deny the teaching of the Church because He has already declared that whatsoever the Church binds upon earth is bound in Heaven, and that whoever hears the Church hears Him.

God cannot be in the presence of evil. That is what so many don't undrstand who say how could a loving God send someone to hell for eternal punishment. The nature of God is truth and purity. It is impossible for someone who has not been made righteous by the blood of Christ to be in presence of total truth and purity. So the one who CHOOSES to deny the Son of God is actually sending himself to hell by that choice. God is standing with open arms, ready to redeem those who will choose His Son as their savior.

There is nothing that God can't do. If he would choose to come back as human, He'll be here.

That preacher was wrong.
The only thing cannot do is allow sin into Heaven.

The only thing that God cannot do is to learn people's lessons for them. But he can guide them so that they learn them, to become more enlightened and more free.
