What about all of those dead monkey people they found in Africa? Are scientist trying to say that Jesus was a monkey??? What if Jesus was a monkey? But archaeology sights proved that the Bible was true. But monkeys VS. Jesus...I'M LOSING MY FAITH HERE HELP ME!

With so Many Religions, Why Christianity?

The story is told of a social worker in Nigeria who once visited a youth in one of the back streets of Lagos. On his bedside table he found the following books: the Book of Common Prayer (of the Anglican Church), the Muslim Koran, three copies of Watchtower (the magazine of the Jehovah's Witnesses), a biography of Karl Marx, a book of yoga exercises, and - maybe what he needed most - a popular paperback entitled How to Stop Worrying!

When faced with the multitude of religions in the world today, all claiming to believe the truth, it is no wonder that many people are confused. The number of followers of each of the four major religions (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) run into hundreds of millions. Only about sixteen percent of the world's population is classed as "non-religious". So if we want to know the truth about God, where do we start?

There are various ways of approaching this problem. One way is to retreat into indifference: "How can we possibly know anyway? Maybe they have all got it wrong! Let's wait until death to find out who was right - that is, if there is indeed anything on the other side." Another approach is to assume that all religions are equally valid. It doesn't really matter which we believe as long as we believe in something (or Someone). A cynical historian once said that, to the populace all religions were equally true; to the philosopher all were equally false; to the politician all were equally useful!

The problem with both these approaches is simply that they are assumptions. They are not based on any factual evidence, and assumptions have a nasty habit of proving to be wrong. Maybe all religions do not all lead to God, or heaven, any more than all roads lead to Rome. After all some roads lead to London, or New York, or Timbuktu. Even a superficial study of the world's religions will reveal that they not only teach very different things about God (or gods) but also about how you get on side with him (or her, or whatever) - or whether it is even necessary to get on side with him! Sincerity in our search is essential, but it is possible to be sincerely wrong.

The purpose of this booklet is to assist those who wish to take a third approach, which I suggest is a better one. That is, to start with another assumption, that if God does exist then he would want us to know the truth and has given us ways of finding it out. It is a fundamental doctrine of Christianity that God wants to reveal himself to us and wants to enter into a loving relationship with us. He also gave us minds to be used. If you start with these assumptions and do some sincere inquiring and still don't find this God, than at least you are no worse off. However, I am hopeful that you will be pleasantly surprised.

I was wondering what the correct christian way to pray was. I know that God loves me, but sometimes I feel afraid to pray directly to God and that I'm not worthly to pray to him. With Jesus, I feel like I can just be me and that he is on my side and very forgiving.

I know that Jesus said that "my father and I are one and the same" but I don't know if I can't conclude that means it really doesn't matter??

When I pray to "Heavenly Father" I always feel like my prayers are more respectful with more reverence and more formal

With Jesus, I feel like I'm having a comfortable conversation with someone who loves me

Please help guide me through this.

Guess what?
Same as the past, the present, so shall it be in the future.
Why, because the jews CANNOT do what GOD has told them to do.
They, like the other religions, want THEIR LOVE, THEIR PEACE and not their neighbors.
They've done that for thousands of years and continue to do it today.

I have been helping converts to Catholicism for over 20 years. There are so many misconceptions about Catholics simple because people speak as fact things that are just not true. Main stream Protestantism denominations are slowly accepting that we actually worship Jesus and are Christians. We do not worship Mary, we simply honor her. If most religions believe in only one higher power, what makes yours right?

every group tries to recruit, why is it ok for yours and not them?

every religion at some point has had to defend themselves, why is that so wrong?

Some seem to refer to recreational sex as "Lust" and procreational sex as "Love".

Yet for some, a married couple engaging in recreational sex (ie intentionally not procreational) that is "Love" too.

Are we showing Love when we try only to make a baby, or are we also showing Love whenever we wish to give and receive pleasure?

I-God-so love this world that I will give my only begotten son to heal those that have been afflicted with diseases that I too have created-so that man can suffer and know that I AM! I will cause many great obsticles in mans path of life so that he will know that only through me may he enjoy life and not on Earth-but after his death-in Heaven-and even the man that suffers as a child with the inflictions I place upon them at birth that they will carry and spread to other men-even he shall burn in hell for being born out of my religious order (like a muslim born with aids and dies goes to hell) because I AM. because the whole purpose of religion is control and power.
All religions are exactly like this.
the religion wants their believers to be controlled, be powerless, be brainwashed, be braindead of the religions beliefs.
Look at Jesus. The jews had him put to death, or at least attempted to be put to death. but, Jesus knew this and he went through with it and lived through the crucifixion, past religious beliefs.
Proof, Jesus had the consciousness to create a private, personal, direct, divine relationship with Our Creator. Other intelligent, highly consciousness people have done it too, How did you asked?
because God has given us all the ability to create such a relationship because we are a creation of Our Creator, the only perfect being.
