Most Christians in the world believe that evolution was the means by which humankind came into existence. There are a handful of religious fanatics of various faiths that disagree. Some of these are Christians. But whether they like it or not they are a minority. The reason most Christians believe evolution is because it is supported by overwhelming evidence and does nothing to downgrade the majesty of creation. In fact, those who understand it, are in awe of how astonishing it is in action. Christian believers believe they can see God's handiwork in action. And it's a whole lot more believable than the alternative.

What do you want to do? Live in comfort with your faith and recognize that we simply have relatives who are higher primates? Or persist with the idea that after an infinite number of years sitting on his hands doing nothing, one day God decided that he'd make himself a world? Keep your faith if it's important to you.

there is something called the gap theory that says both work together. Have you ever known God to rush anything? It states that God's days are different than ours constituting of hundreds or thousands of years. Another fact in the bible that supports the gap theory vs the rushed " God created the world in a week" theory is that our version of keeping time, the sun and the moon, didn't even exist until the third day. Why would God limit himself to 24 hours if the sun wasn't there yet? You don't have to lose your faith to believe in evolution, Christians have believed in both for years. I actually learned about it in a seminary class because I was struggling much as you are. I came to the conclusion one way or the other God will not send you to hell for believing in evolution. Know that the creator could have made the world in a week but somehow we just know he doesn't work that way.

The evidence for evolution is and has been interpreted from a Philosophical and ideological Bias, The answers given by adherents to Evolution here in R&S is proof of the bias and agenda, Atheism has to have an alternate explanation—other than a Creator—for how the universe and life came into existence.
Darwin once identified himself as a Christian but as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life, he later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God. Evolution was invented by an atheist.
What is sad is that Christians are falling into this Trap and trying to fit evolution into the Bible (Theistic Evolution) thinking they can make it fit.
Lee Stroble in his video listed below “ The Case for the Creator” stated (5 min. 28 sec into the video) The Case for a Creator
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajqH4y8G0MI

That “There is no way you can Harmonize Neo Darwinism with Christianity, I could never understand Christians who would say “ Well I believe in God yet I believe in Evolution as well” You see Darwin’s idea about the development of life led to his theory that modern science now generally defines as an undirected process completely devoid of any purpose or plan,”. Now how could God direct an undirected process? How could God have purpose in a plan behind a system that has no plan and no purpose? It just does not make sense.
It didn’t make sense to me in 1966 and it doesn’t make sense to me now.
The Apostle Paul wrote to His Son Timothy stating that “ in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, [because] they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn [their] ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

Those Christians who believe in evolution have no idea how that effects their theology.

There is plenty of evidence AGAINST EVOLUTION:.
First, the 'Cambrian explosion'; the millions of fossil types in Cambrian rock (oldest fossil bearing rocks) appear suddenly and fully formed and without any previous forms...IOW, there are no transitional forms.

Most well educated evolutionists when forced to ...will admit it, but very unwillingly, and even then they always want to seem to make new excuses for it. Usually they just don't say anything about it and hope noone finds out.
All of the so called pre-historic 'human finds' have been proven false.

Jesus said:
"From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..." (Mk. 10:6)

You can still believe in evolution without loosing your faith. Just accept it and move on. I believe in both and no one is telling me that I am crazy.

Ha ha I like Starlytefairy response. God created humans and animals and spent billions of years searching for the right human vessel to be in.

I wonder who created these fossils http://www.deq.state.mi.us/documents/deq-ogs-gimdl-GGOF.pdf

Archaeologists and scientists give you information with tangible proof. Religion is something for the heart and mind. They are completely different things. If you believe in something, it exists, if you don't, it's non-existent. Lies told over and over again could become "truth", use your own good judgement.

Creation via Evolution.
I believe the story was recorded as it was because at the time people didn't have the knowledge we have now and wouldn't have understood.
