The book of shadows has list of spells, knowledge, wisdom etc., why is it called a book of shadows then? It seems it brings light to things, not darkness and shadows.

I know that this verse is in the old testament:

Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life. - Leviticus 25:44

However, this one is in the NEW testament:

Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to be refractory, nor to pilfer, but to show entire and true fidelity. - Titus 2:9

Do you agree with God on this subject or do you think slavery is wrong?

anyone can answer, i guess, but anyways...

i was just reading the Book of James, and noticed that there was a lot of JST-luckily i checked, because in Jas chapter 2 there is a lot of it, in some important places. so i was wondering is there a place where i could get a copy of the Bible with the JST already worked into the manuscript? thanks

my mom is a christian, and she is putting SO much pressure on me to become one too. i am a free spirited kind of girl and i feel like the bible is one big book of rules telling me what i can and cant do. i don't think i'm ready to be a christian but i don't want to let her down, what do you guys think i should do?

My husband is away on right now, because of his job and he found out that dates (the fruit) are not readily available where he's at in Virginia, so I was thinking about ordering some from online for him, as a gift. Does anyone know of any good, reputable websites to buy dates (the fruit) from? But I don't need a lot, just a small amount, just enough to last through Ramadan. Thank you all so much! What are the corresponding emotions, adjectives, creatures etc. that go with each of the quarters:
East - Air - Silts
South - Fire - Salamanders
West - Water - Undines
North - Earth - Dryads

I think those are right but have trouble remembering them and all the details of each. All suggestions/list greatly appreciated!

Mark 16vs14-20 after Jesus resurrected before assending to heaven he told his believers-as He appeared unto 11 of them 3 days after his death; "He said unto them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

the gospel means the good news-death burrial and resurrection for salvation from sins--Revelation 3vs 19&20 Jesus speaks from heaven saying, I love you unconditionaly, I stand at your heart door and knock to come in and deliver from sin, and be your friend."

so i prayed-pray with me if u desire the best miracle-Jesus im sorry for my sins, come in & help me, be my friend, amen-let it be!

vs 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was recieved up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of the Father.

vs 20 The went forth, and preached eery where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen

Has God ever told you to do something that he absoultely knew you didn't want to do? It seems as if God is trying to tell me to continue working where I've been for the last 27 years, and I'm absolutely miserable just thinking about it. Is it possible that I'm not really hearing from God, but rather being mentally tormented by the Devil?

I live in a small town with a highly mormon population. Everyone goes around whispering "are you lds? are you mormon?" and they segregate... the mormons go here the non mormons go there. Whats it all about? I keep hearing people say its a cult.

If you want to read it, there's a book called " Seven Reasons why You Can Trust The Bible" by Erwin W. Lutzer. It includes the logical, scientific and historical reasons as well. And if that doesn't help, " Summa Theologica ( Theologiae)" by Thomas Aquinas. I'm just putting it out there. So no attacks, please.
