Depends on the cult. Christians have no set rules, but, generally, praising Jesus gets you a free pass to heaven regardless what you do on earth.
Most Christian cults claim humans cannot help but sin. If humans can live without committing sin, then the Jesus story is nonsense.

You will have people say No God doesn't punish Christians and they will bend the scriptures to say that He just reproves us because he loves us and on and on and on. But YES He punishes us. If He tells us to beat the child with the rod so that we may save him from the gates of hell, I am certain He beats us with the same rod. While it is true that He does it because He loves us, it is punishment non the less. So just forget about getting off by becoming a Christian, it is not an easy, straight or wide road. We are required to walk a better walk, set a higher standard, for the benefit of the other's like you watching us.

My friend God never punishes His children, but He does discipline his children like a good parent would.
He does this so His children will Love and respect Him unconditionally, especially those who are still emotionally scarred in some way from being hurt by family members, friends, or other anyone has distorted their view of the Truth about God.
He is a friend, Father, King, Lord, and Savior. He is also a comforter, guide, counselor, and so many other wonderful things that I could not have room enough to write about.

I'm wondering if you're just trying to be funny. Or maybe you're of the opinion that if you become a Christian you can then do what you want. It doesn't work that way. To become a Christian, you must be genuinely repentent and not trying to 'get one over' on God. He doesn't work that way, and He knows your heart. Besides, when Christians sin, God (like a good parent) will chastise them and attempt to bring them back into a good relationship with Him. I know this to be true from personal experience.

Absolutely..but we are disciplined so that we do not have to suffer judgement with the rest of the world. But as for a Christian who would continue in sin and not repent...I would be very skeptical as to whether he was ever truly saved.

You would not want to sin if you started to follow Christ. We all fall short from the glory of God. Luckily we do not get what we deserve. His love is offered to everyone. He knows if the feeling is mutual.
This is a matter of if you want to be with God or if you do not want to be with God...here and after.

Sorry, but each sin you commit has a consequence. God allows these consequences to happen.

Your question assumes that God is a halfwit and wouldn't see through your childish falseness. He disciplines His children for their benefit. And doesn't waste time with liars.

...Yes; please read Hebrews 12:5-11 -
...and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;
...6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."
... 7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
...8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
...9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
...10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.
...11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
