Jains predate Christianity by about 1,000 years and have far better rules regarding moral behavior:

Many of which appear to have been adopted by Christians.

So, where did Christians get the idea they invented morality?

does it not say in the bible that prayers in public are not heard as well as when you go to your closet to pray? I think I remember reading that in the bible, but it has been a long time . do you know about that and were it would be in the bible? of course we should praise god in all we do.and live as an example to others, and not only in prayer . in private, with gods spirit,.

I'd like to know how people have coped with losing someone they loved to suicide. If you're going to comment with some religious condemnation, please don't bother, I don't need to hear it and I don't agree. Intelligent responses only please.

How many of you were "born in the church" (as in you follow the religion your parents follow)?

How many of you abandoned a previous faith for a new faith? How many faiths? And why?

What about atheists/agnostics, how did you come about?

Personally, I am an Atheist. My family was catholic and sent me to catholic school during my elementary years. My mom is catholic and my dad grew up catholic but has his own "extra" views on religion. As I grew up, we didn't attend church but still had a belief in god. At about the age of 17 my friend and I began attending a non-denominational church because his gf was Christian. At about that age I was "born-again" and recieved Christ into my life. I remained this way until I was 19 when I transfered to college. I grew apart from religion again by not attending church, and studying for my psychology classes I realized that the science world made "more sense" and progressively turned into an Atheist at 21. I am much happier now and feel free.

I wonder if people think I care about what they rate me? If someone gives me a thumbs down, they are giving themselves a thumbs down, and Jesus a thumbs down. Jesus is inside all of us and if we give someone a thumbs down we are giving Jesus a thumbs down.

If you looked at someone, hanging from a cross, would you give them a thumbs down?

Anyways, believe it or not, there will be people out there saying, yup, he is right, and I know this because my brothers are inside me and they guide me and I guide them.

What are some reasons that you believe in god? I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm simply curious.

And please don't say "how can i not???" I want real, logical reasons.

When people put their money into an offering plate, that money should be used for God right? Then what's the deal with these churches using the money to buy $10,000 red carpet, chandeliers, expensive sound systems, and other stuff that has nothing to do with God's work? Of course the church's bills have to be paid. It should look nice and clean. But it shouldn't look like the Ritz-Carlton! That money could be better spent feeding many many hungry people, spreading God's love, buying blankets for the homeless, and many other ways. THAT's God's work, not buying things to impress other churches, right?
We have one church here that owns an entire city block of buildings. They have TV ads saying they have a place for YOU, they're all doctors and lawyers, and rich people, and the pastor won't even speak to a person he knows if they're not "good" enough. This doesn't seem very Christian to me and it makes me sick the way people give money that should be used for God.It's too common.

There are 2 things I know about Satan:

1. He wears a red Leotard.
2. He wants to cast my wretched soul into a lake of fire, where hellish screams and ghoulish demons torment me for all of eternity.

Question: What can I do to foil his Dastardly Plans?

Also, Sometimes I get the feeling that satan, gods, spirits, witches & hobgoblins are just "make believe". Is satan just playing a trick on me?

Jesus says in Luke 21:10,11 “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven." How many wars hav we had in this century? What about earthquakes? It has been estimated that 60,000,000 ppl a year die from starvation around the world. If u go 2 google and type in whirlpool galaxy core, you'll c something that is the basis of Christianity. In Ezekiel, the prophet speaks of Israel being at war w/ Ethiopia and Libya (Arab states) led by Gog and Magog (Russia and Moscow) and the world just watches including us b/c after the Bush administration, the next president WILL b Democratic, withdraw from the Mid-east vow 2 stay out of there in the future.
