I think it is absurd that people can not live totally free. Do you honestly think that homosexual people choose to be that way? If so then unfortunately you are the misguided. Who would choose to live a life of ridicule and hate. How could they believe that you are their brothers and sisters when you have so much disdain for them? To think they have a choice is ridiculous. Their sexual preferences are not hurting you. This country has much grander issues than peoples sexuality. We have a horrible homeless problem, poor education, corrupted government. All these people want is to live their life in peace. I have great empathy for those who cannot see this for themselves.

The issue is more complex. Some advocates want homosexuals to have the basic rights, all the rights that married couples have. Others want to go further and have marriage for homosexuals (and the rights), but this pushes the envelope farther than most Americans are willing to go. If all were in the first camp, the issue would be done with. Most people want homosexual couples to have rights.

You folks kill me! This is why I stopped going to church, and why I gave up on organized religion---closed mindedness should be a sin!

Let's go through the impact of not granting judicial and social priviledges to "sins", shall we?

In the Bible, drinking alcohol or the partaking of anything that alters the mind is a sin-should we rectify Prohibition again, everyone?

In the Bible, eating shellfish and pork is a sin...Wanna ban all pork and crab, shrimp, lobster consumption?

In the Bible, idols are not allowed...why not rip off all those Jesus pieces off your necks and ban all crucifix production and imports into the U.S.A?

According to the Commandments, we shall honor the Sabbath day-and depending on who you talk to is either Sunday, Saturday, or Monday...if you don't that's a BIG sin...Let's petition the government to make it illegal to work on those days!!

Do you see why religion and government just don't mix? Give me a break! Allow gays and lesbians the same civil and marital rights and let God do the judging....Amen.

One package and it works for EVERYONE

1Corinthians 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 Some of you used to do those things. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Some of you used to do those things…

IT CAN BE FORGIVEN!

God does not hate anyone, people hate one another, I am a christian and have nothing against gays, infact I have several gay/bisexual friends. I do however belive that marriage is a sacred thing for a man and a woman, but think its okay for them to somehow be bound together.
I dont think that gays will go to hell, all human beings are sinners, it says so in the bible, none are righchous, no, not one..
I think everyone should stop hating, and discriminating, Jesus would not so why should we.
I think we should start trying to reconsile are own sins, before we start telling everyone else they are horrible sinners and going to hell, you only go to hell if you dont follow Gods word...
sin away, just pray...

No man is an island. I think it is quite naive to believe that what two homosexual men do in the privacy of their homes can't hurt anybody. What two homosexual men did in privacy lead to the AIDS epidemic. What two homsexual men do in privacy can lead to the breakup of a marriage and destruction of a family. God doesn't condemn homosexuality because He doesn't want us to have fun. He always condemns sin because He knows sin is not in our best interests. And sin, whether private or public, will always find a way to hurt mankind.

I understand what you're saying, but just because something is God's business doesn't mean that Christians should just leave it up to God to deal with. For example, murder, rape and pedophilia are also sins. Should we just forget about the morals, values and safety of a community because God will deal with it in the end? No, I'm not saying homosexuals are like murderers and rapists, but I am saying if someone thinks something is wrong, it is their social responsibility to voice their concerns.

Yeah, except for the fact that if they don't repent and live a Christian life and accept Christ, they will go to hell. Why not talk to them, let them know what God says, so they have knowledge to make a more religious choice or not.

Being gay is a sin in certain people's eyes not God. We are all God's children. Hatred of any of God's children is a sin.

so, we should let murderers and rapists, and child molesters just do what they want, and let God take care of them, also?

the homosexual deserves the basic rights the same as anybody else. what they do not deserve are privileges, that are set aside for those who obey the laws of the land.

it would be different if they were a race, but put two fags together and you still cant produce offspring.
