PLEASE HELP!!! Me, my friend, and my brother have been trying to get our friend saved for about three days and we've made a lot of progress but today we told him to move away for a few minutes so we could talk and we talked about wether or not we should tell him about the seven trumpets of judgement in the bible but we agreed not to tell him yet cause if he got saved because of what we tell him about the seven trupets of judgement then he might not love God as much cause he might just get saved to escape judgement, and he kept telling us to tell him what we were talking about and we kept telling him no and then five minutes later he told us that he made a deal with God that if we told him what we were talking about telling him then he would go and get saved and we kept telling him that if we told him now then he would just be getting saved to escape judgement and he wouldn't really love God for God and what he did for him but he just...doesn't get it. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO SO!!! Peace.

Give up your religion to see
all others united?
everyone speak the same language?
no more fighting?
that there is definitely someone controlling everything from up above?

The people of that religion would not remember you as uniting them, nor would they remember their previous religions, though. They would only see you as the biggest sinner of all time, because you gave up your eternal salvation for nothing.

It's quite a hard choice, really.

Be condemed for the rest of your days, or stop all war and confusion for your measly life?

...specifically the philosophy section, when I came across questions regarding the meaning of life.

Lo and behold, what do I find in the responses? Christians, saying how the purpose of life is to worship God....

The question is this: If Christians constantly ask us why we atheists are here in the R & S section, responding to things we "know nothing about", then may I ask why Christians are in the philosophy sections, spreading their religious dogma, rather than educated answers?????????

Im not trying to be mean, Im just wondering - how much can religiousity be related to philosophy? Id think they are mutaully exclusive, as religion does not allow for pondering situations, it allows only for dagmatic, regurgitated, learned responses. Philosophy, on the other hand, requires a thinking ability.

What gives?

given the answers i recieved about a chapter of the bible
it is suggesting that God gives gifts of spirit .. gifts of speaking with spirit , of healing and other beautiful gifts

why then , when i say i speak with spirit or am a healer etc .. am i considered evil or that demons are speaking to me ?
or is it only christians who are allowed to be in reciept of this gift ?

I was watching a news segment about a kid who got shot coming out of a liquor store. The mother was on camera talking about how it was sad but that "everything happens for a reason". That got me thinking, if the omnipotent, omniscient God wanted that to happen for some reason, wouldn't the shooter be carrying out God's will? Some may point out free-will, and I understand that God knowing what will happen and free will can coincide, but God's charted plan and free will are a contradiction in themselves. How can an infaliable perfectly laid out plan by an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent being be affected by anything including free will?

I really REALLY want my ears pierced. But I know that's NEVER going to happen because my mom thinks it's bad for no reason. We're Christians, and my mom says it's bad to wear jewelry, like it's a sin. Anyone, from experience, know if it's true or not? I personally don't think so. I just think that you shouldn't wear jewelry just to show off your wealth or think that you look all good and stuff. Ideas, anyone?
