The pope quoted from a book recounting a conversation between 14th-century Byzantine Christian Emperor Manuel Paleologos II and a Persian scholar on the truths of Christianity and Islam.

"The emperor comes to speak about the issue of jihad, holy war," Benedict said. "He said, I quote, 'Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'"

Now they're going to blow something up and prove him right. Muslims say terrible things about every other belief system in the world. Hey, I have an idea.... Let's fight about who's imaginary friend is better!

Well if the story of Adam and Eve, mankind, being decieved by the devil, as the story goes to believe that by
'taking of the tree of knowledge they would be like God to know the difference between good and evil'...what newly discovered deception may prove that the original sin is still with us....by the way, Muslims, Jews and Christians all believe in this same story...

There is a little old lady down the street from me who has recieved notice from the city to remove her statue of Jesus from her side yard or to put it behind a fence. The statue has been there some 40 years, and there is no city ordinace against such a thing. Infact, the lady across the street from her has three deer in her front yard. What do you think the motivation is behind the city's demand?

She also claims to be "pro-black", and always concerned about the white folks trying to fire us. She always has an answer, finishes the supervisors sentence when she asks a question.

Seems to me she kisses a** more than anyone! How do I get along without having a stroke???

I have been trying to get an answer from some Muslims for quite some time, but they themselves do not know. I read a book called "Islam Revealed" I forgot the name of the author, I read this book almost ten years ago; this book exposed so many things about the prophet Muhammed, when confronted with execerps from the book, many Muslims evaded the questions. Has anyone else out there read the book?

There's so many different religions and just in Christianity look at all of the different groups. So if you read the bible for yourself, what do you believe? Has anyone changed their minds and decided that they dont' agree with what they were taught? What was it you disagreed with that made you switch?

Bible Sales

A minister concluded that his church was getting into serious
financial troubles.

While checking the church storeroom, he discovered several cartons of
new bibles that had never been opened and distributed. So at his
Sunday sermon he asked for three volunteers from the congregation who
would be willing to sell the bibles door-to-door for $10 each to raise
the desperately needed money for the church.

Peter, Paul and Louie all raised their hands to volunteer for the
task. The minister knew that Peter and Paul earned their living as
salesmen and were likely capable of selling some bibles but he had
serious doubts about Louie. Louie was just a little local farmer, who
had always tended to keep to him because he was embarrassed by his
speech impediment. Poor little Louis stuttered very badly. But, not
wanting to discourage poor Louis, the minister decided to let him try
anyway.

He sent the three of them away with the back seat of their cars
stacked with bibles and asked them to meet with him and report the
results of their door-to-door selling efforts the following Sunday.

Anxious to find out how successful they were, the minister immediately
asked Peter, "Well, Peter, how did you make out selling our bibles
last week?"

Proudly handing the reverend an envelope, Peter replied, "using my
sales prowess, I was able to sell 20 bibles, and here's the $200 I
collected on behalf of the church."

"Fine job, Peter!" The minister said, vigorously shaking his hand.
"You are indeed a fine salesman and the Church is indebted to you."
Turning to Paul, he asked "And Paul, how many bibles did you manage to
sell for the church last week?"

Paul, smiling and sticking out his chest, confidently replied, "I am a
professional salesman and was happy to give the church the benefit of
my sales expertise. Last week I sold 28 bibles on behalf of the
church, and here's $280 I collected."

The minister responded, "That's absolutely splendid, Paul. You are
truly a professional salesman and the church is also indebted to you."

Apprehensively, the minister turned too little Louie and said, "And
Louie, did you manage to sell any bibles last week?"

Louie silently offered the minister a large envelope. The reverend
opened it and counted the contents. "What is this?" the minister
exclaimed. "Louie, there's $3200 in here! Are you suggesting that you
sold 320 bibles for the church, door to door, in just one week?

Louie just nodded.

That's impossible!" both Peter and Paul said in unison. "We are
professional salesmen, yet you claim to have sold 10 times as many
bibles as we could."

"Yes, this does seem unlikely," the minister agreed. "I think you'd
better explain how you managed to accomplish this, Louie."

Louie shrugged "I-I-I- re-re-really do-do-don't kn-kn-know f-f-f-for
sh-sh-sh-sure," he stammered.

Impatiently, Peter interrupted. "For crying out loud, Louie, just tell
us what you said to them when they answered the door!"

"A-a-a-all I-I-I s-s-said wa-wa-was," Louis replied, "W-w-w-w-would

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves that you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. Q.E.D."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.

Don't you find this funny?

A person can post quotes from the Quran and just change the "Infedels" to "Muslims" and people who promote the Quran and the Islam faith don't have a clue! It's like they don't even know that it's an exact replication of the Quran.

At least Bin Laden does not lie and try to hide the fact that the Quran teaches Muslims to kill.

She is only 16 but is to be wed to another guy in India when she turns 18. She is an exchange student. How can she tell her parents that she is not going to honor their wishes and is opposed to such arrangments. She is afraid her parents will disown her. Lets be real, me and her most likely will not be together forever. But I want her to be able to return to India and be happy and not fearful of such a horrible thing. Who knows maybe she will stay in America after graduation. But she still wants a relationship with her parents. They are very traditional and will not listen to her objections. I feel that NO PARENTS HAS THE RIGHT TO FORCEFULLY CHOOSE THEIR CHILDS SPOUSE!.

I dont bloody think so. Oooh he so offended all the poor downtrodden muslims by saying muhammad spread his word through violence. The truth hurts. and how do muslims respond? burning effigies of the pope and threatening to kill him? I think that kind of proves the mans point. Dont get me wrong, I consider all religion to be a complete waste of time and an excuse to start wars. I have no time for any of that pish, nor does any right thinking person in the world we live in today. The world as a whole cannot progress properly with all this idolatary and fannying about. The Muslim reaction to the popes comments (which was only repeating something somoene had said before) is tantamount to bullying. Bullies lash out if you call them a bully. Apparently freedom of speech does not exist in the Muslim world. To all muslims: Air travel is now a complete nightmare because of terrorists your religion spawned. I suggest you put your own house in order before you criticise others.

OK next part: why does the first verse only apply to almsgiving? You people manage to use the OT to justify adultery, stealing, murdering...OK why can't this verse (Matthew:6) be used against public preaching?? It's out of context? BS if you can use the Old Testament to justify murder than I can use that chapter to justify no public preaching.

I just watched the move The DaVinci Code. I know Christians hate the movie because it's says stuff against their religion. I'm an atheist, but I really hated the movie. It got me really depressed. I don't know what in the movie is true and what's not true, but how can people be so STUPID? How can they do such horrible things to themselves and to other people in the name of religion? In the name of some God they don't even know if he exists? And I know that people DO do horrible things, even though the movie was fiction, because look at the middle east today. ALL wars that are happening there is because of religion. And everybody accepts this as if it's completely normal. WHY?
