I just watched the move The DaVinci Code. I know Christians hate the movie because it's says stuff against their religion. I'm an atheist, but I really hated the movie. It got me really depressed. I don't know what in the movie is true and what's not true, but how can people be so STUPID? How can they do such horrible things to themselves and to other people in the name of religion? In the name of some God they don't even know if he exists? And I know that people DO do horrible things, even though the movie was fiction, because look at the middle east today. ALL wars that are happening there is because of religion. And everybody accepts this as if it's completely normal. WHY?

People have been killing in the name of religion ever since there were people. Unfortunately, it isn't going to change until people realize that we are all human beings and it doesn't matter what we believe. Until people accept that we are all the same and artificial differences like religion don't matter, there will be war and terror in the name of god.

If people accept religious wars as normal, it's only because it's been going on for as long as anyone remembers. I don't think it's right, but it's been happening for so long that it probably is normal by now.
There are three major religious groups in the middle east, two of them are trying to make thier prophesies about judgment day come true. The other is waiting for a great leader to tear down an old building and put up a new one. They're all in love with destruction.
That still doesn't tell WHY, but that's all I know about it.
I think it's really about money and politics, but hate keeps the fire hot.

Look, you have to understand that just calling yourself a Christian doesn't mean you are one,no more than I'm a car because I'm standing in the garage.People do crap and try to drag God into it all the time to justify their behavior. That doesn't mean God endorses it.The DaVinci code was such a load of manure.Jesus was an orthodox rabbi,he would never marry a non-virgin,he never broke the rules. He didn't come to be married anyway but to share the good news(that's what "Gospel" means and to die for us,and to prove He was who He said He was ,He rose from the dead. It's not normal to use religion to start wars Jesus wouldn't approve. He said share the good news not go out and convert by the sword.

Just try to remember it's only fiction. Leonardo DaVinci wasn't a Christian, and I really doubt Dan Brown is. I read the book, but haven't seen the movie.
People are stupid because they're human. Being Christian doesn't make you holy.

I haven't seen the movie. I am very familiar with the free Masons though. Religion has been an excuse for many evil deeds through all history. I suspect the future holds more of the same.
This earth is but a small speck in the grand scheme of eternal life

..I don't think faith is the root of evil, but 2 things, selfishishness/ flawed human nature or character, and, think about it, the blame game / prejudism, root of so much evil.. To blame all faith (except the secular faith) for radical Islam's barbaric practices, is like lumping all education as evil because of Columbine.. or every civil authority and government is basest evil because of dictatorial genocidal despots.. or all marriage is evil because some commit adultery.. or all family is evil.. because of (more and more?) dysfunction of some.. [As far as the tiny sliver of Israel, every aggression has not been against Islam, but seeking to fend off the unceasing threat of obliteration; the world has a "Council Against Genocide" the nations signed pledging to fight it wherever it rises.. what ever happened! Now we have a "Human Rights Commission" where many of the primary members are despotic dictators, thugs and killers (like Sudan) - it's my belief the human subconscious is thinking if we let despots get on with it, we can work out world peace with them afterwards..]

I empathize with your feelings...
There is no credible historical evidence to support the claims of the Da Vinci Code.
See http://www.godsci.org/gs/dvc/ for an evaluation of the claims of the Da Vinci Code.
Cordially,
