Well if you look at the question from strictly a wordly view I can understand why someone might think that. If you look at the question from a spiritual point of view and in turn take a look at the book of Revelation in a symbolic way, we would understand that the evil empire is the spirit of antichrist. See Revelation 17:5 and the verse that talks about the seed 2 Timothy 2:7 and we can conclude that the spirit of antichrist was present when the bible was written (although in its infancy). The US did not come along until many many years later.

Power and influence don't make you evil; how you use them does. Currently, the United States donates billions of dollars in relief aid and sends millions of people into the world to help. How is that evil? Besides, there are many influential nations in the world, not to mention the EU. I think they are a much better candidate for world domination.

The evil empire will be coming out of the eastern nations. It talks in Revelation that the Temple will be rebuilt on the Mountain of Jerusalem, and that sacrifices that were done in the Old Testament times would take place again. It is from this place that the evil will come from, and we are close to that time, although only God himself knows exactly when that will occur.

Read Ezekiel 17:1-10 See the countries with Eagle as its symbol. The first one suggest it to be the Roman Empire with Eagle on it staff and the one is United States whose symbol is the Great Eagle. The vine is normally addressed to the Annointed one.

If you read the New Testament and pray for understanding, you will see that all roads will lead back to Rome. They are rebuilding their strength, and will be all world powerful again. The United States is still a young country and we are losing our World Power name very rapidly.
The anti-Christ can come from any country. He will have the power to convince people to give him the power over the world. He could be from Africa, India, U.S., Russia, ETC.....

What specific evil empire in the Bible are you referring to? Do you have a particular Bible passage in mind? I don't think you have the faintest idea what you're talking about.

over the many years many countries have been powerful, not just the US so there's no use in calling the US evil. It's my opinion that the Islamic facists just want to bring about the end of the world so that their messiah can appear.

I guess that you are not much of a reader. Even if I think that you don't read the Bible, I know for sure you don't read the news also.

Yes, I believe it would be. The US has way too much power and influence, and thinks it's self as the world police. The US can't mind it's own business, and seems to think that it can decide how the rest of the world should live.
