Words can have thier meanings changed over time. I believe
infidel was a French word that meant someone who lacked
intelligence. Some of the Crusaders were French, and they
called the Arabs infidels first.

Infidel is different for everyone. Someone who is Christian might think a Muslim is an infidel and vice-versa. Infidels are a non-believer in your own religion.

An infidel is not just someone who doesn't believe in A god, it's someone who doesn't believe in YOUR god.

Generally, you have to believe in THEIR god. Christians consider Muslims to be infidels, too, they just say it differently.

If you are a Christian, infidel is refered to non-Christians.
If you are a Muslim, infidel is refered to non-Muslim.
So difficult to understand?
