Hollywood! My favorite was Endora from Bewitched.
There are people who have perfected certain gifts and talents some of us are affectionately called witches. We are proud of who we are and our known presence is becoming more common place . We are not all Pagans and Wccans. We respect each others powers and let be. If some one ask for assistance most of the time we discover why and if so inclined we try to help.
As for the amazing Randi think about this. If you have powers real powers why would you want every one to know look what they did to Jesus. And what good or use would material things like money be to you. My mother was well known for her abilities people would not leave her alone they called all times of the day and night wanting her assistance.

No.
The truth about witches is that in the old times, Christians were afraid of anyone who was different. Hmm...maybe that hasn't changed. Anyway, there were people who knew about healing with herbs and stuff, who did love spells and rituals of various kinds that the Christians couldn't do for themselves. The power of ritual is mostly psychological- meaning it might change a person's mind about something, but it didn't really change reality otherwise. But the Christians were in awe of these old-time healers and they made up stories about what amazing magic they could do. You know how stories can get. Each new story has to outdo the old stories. Soon people began to believe that the herbalists had all sorts of strange powers. Soon after that, they began to track them down and kill them because they were so afraid of the supposed power that these people had, even though it was all make believe.
Now it's the 21st century and we still like our stories.
Of course it's really quite a bit more complicated than that, but that's because we are talking about folk legends that have been around for hundreds of years. People want to believe in magic, so at various times in history, some people have made serious attempts at doing magic. Guess what? It's still mostly psychological. You can cast a spell to make yourself believe whatever you want to believe, but that's about all that any magic does.
The name "witch" is no longer P.C. Groups of people around the world have decided to rescue the old religion from its bad press and they re-invented it and gave it new credibility. It's now called either "Wicca" or "Paganism", but to be fair there are several religions in the Carribean and South America that are also misunderstood by the average white Christian, primarily Santeria, Vodun and Lucumi.
You can find information all over the web about these things. You will probably notice that in the television and movie version of the mythology, there is devil worship and vampirism mixed with witch stories. Maybe some mummies and werewolves, too. For what reason are these stories still told? To sell beer, laundry detergent and new cars.

NO. There is no such thing, which I clearly stated in your other question. Witches (no "h") cannot do the things in the TV show Charmed. No one can. I am a Wiccan, I would know. Wow, the idea of what a witch is has gotten really twisted.

Sweetie, you've to remember that it's just a SHOW, purely fiction, nothing more.
The same way men can't fly and take bullets to the chest like Superman. We, humans at least are not created that way.
As for the Halliwell sisters' power/ abilities i.e. Phoebe's intuition or gift of premonition, there're certain people who've heightened senses, making them psychics/ mediums.

No one can really do things like that. It's a fantasy series. There are real witches though. You should look into the religion Wicca. Being a witch and practicing Wicca are NOT the same thing, but they're closely related.

Television shows like Charmed are fiction. Fiction means not real. It's all completely exaggerated.

Real life is nothing like "Charmed"

No. It's cool to think so, but no. Several years ago, an investigator named James Randi put forth a million dollar challenge. He is willing to pay anyone a million dollars who can demonstrate that they have paranormal powers. To date, no one has ever passed preliminary tests.
