Hi,
the purpose of life is learning. Strange as it may sound but its true. You are here to learn to live & to know why you did the things the way you are doing it. Here i assume that our soul gets born over & over again in cycles until it reaches a level of maturity. There are atleast two parts of you which even the scientific community accept. They are the consious part & the other is the unconcious part. The unconcious part is the soul. The soul is always at a higher level of knowledge & wisdom than the concious part ie., the mind. Just like the god the soul has no begining nor end. It just a sparkle thhat emerged out of the great super being called god when it attains enough knowledge & wisdom it reuintes with the supreme being called god. During each birth the soul learns a lot of things & then goes to next higher level of existence. So live your life to the fullest extend. Do what you think you have to do & learn from waht you do. With the help of god maybe you may reduce the cycles of rebirths. Hence do good to you & onto others. That pleases god.

Part of the purpose of your own life you can't understand while you're living on Earth. The purpose of all life is something nobody is likely to truly understand. The purpose you can find in your own life is something you can select.

If, though, there's the chance that all of life is a giant accident, and there's no real purpose for your existence, and you don't want to find some purpose in your own lilfe; that could be ok too.
Go out and feel the sun or look at all the shades of mauves and gray in the sky at sunset, think up something that makes you laugh, and just enjoy life for what you CAN see and feel while you're here. That's no such a horrible thing either.

There are two sides of life that one person can take a look at. It becomes meaningless when you look to the future as a far and hard thing to reach and accomplish. It only becomes meaningful when along the journey, you try to enjoy each moment you go about your life. Every little step could be an adventure if you stop for a while and savor the wind that gently flow to your face. If you take notice how beautiful is life in its various shapes and sizes.

The purpose is to be the best human being that you can be. Meaningless? Nope. You can have oodles and gobs of meaning but you mostly have to figure out how to do it yourself. Try getting out there and helping people who need it, do random acts of kindness. Simply smiling at people when you come across someone and it could really make their day, as small as that gesture is. That is meaning to life.

Life is definitely not meaningless, coz this human birth is one in 84,00,000 births. Human birth is THe TOP of the Creation of the LORD and the LIVING TEMPLE. Only in this birth can a soul find a living saint and achieve salvation. For this one has to go within, meditate alongwith balancing his worldly life which can be guided by a TRUE living saint!!

The sole purpose of the life is seek enjoyment. The enjoyment is caterogised in, two namely material and spiritual ie the enjoyment of worldly life and that of faith in the supreme power. The life becomes meaningless for those who want everything on silver platter and for those who waste their time in comparing thier lief with others.

Bollox to the previous comment. Religion is only one thing that gives life meaning; there are many religions and each one is as true and real as the next.

People tend to think of life as meaningless as it is hard to believe that there is a higher meaning, common to everyone. Given the diversity of life on this earth, the frequency of conflict on every scale, and the inequality among men, most people find it untenable to think that we have a higher calling. Yet I think that if we live on, it is for the meaning that we create and find for ourselves. Some people find meaning and community in religion, others find it in family, yet others find it in their work, or the various activities that they become passionate about.
Rather than wondering if life is meaningless, focus on making meaning -- doing things that are good, that will keep you content. (This is not to say, however, that healthy skepticism is a bad thing!)

Life is the characteristic state of organisms. Properties common to terrestrial organisms (plants, animals, fungi, protists and bacteria) are that they are cellular, carbon-and-water-based with complex organization, having a metabolism, a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and—through natural selection—adapt.

But in Human nature view of life is totally different.
Life is a chance to prove your self to the society. It's a gift from heaven to a human who has a goal to achieve and It's a call from a hell to a human who have no aim to effort. When you care about your life it will be meaning full but if you don't care of it it's meaningless.

the purpose of life is to leave a mark after you are gone to further the message of the gospel of JESUS CHRIST. Might sound stupid to some maybe, but we preach our own funerals and leave our legacy by the life we live. Helping others make it along the way, giving hope and encouragement to those who feel hopeless....and LOVING the UNLOVABLE that everyone else has given up on. That is what life is all about-that was the message of JESUS CHRIST as well...we are to be fishers of men, GOD does the cleaning.

Do not ask others!
Ask your self...

What others can advise is only their perception of life. Only an independent and a strong willed mind can know reason.

It is an answer to be discovered in the self!

Another though stream - our minds are tuned to a system i.e., we expect a logic for each and every happening - Why should there be one?

Read "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu.

Have patience, get clarity of mind and ask the same question - to your self - you would get the answer!!!
