By living in obedience to Jesus' teachings :)
I agree with your comments...

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
Cordially,
John

John 4:23-24 "The time has come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, and that time is here already. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." Praise is a form of worship. The Book of Psalms is a collection of songs to praise the Lord and personal conversations with God praising His name. Psalm 66 teaches us how to praise the Lord. I believe He is called to the place of worship by songs of praise and true worship. I often feel His presence after praise.

This is how we should love God:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deuteronomy 6:5). Jesus also reminds us of this Scripture in the new testament and he include love thy neighbor as thyself. God also wants our praise. Look at the book of Psalms and look through the bible you will see that people gave God praise a lot. He also commanded it. Every thing that hath breath, praise ye the Lord (Psalms 150:6). There is nothing wrong with asking God for things. As long we are asking for thing according to his will ( 1John 3:22) while seeking him first in our lives.

Yes, I totally agree with you. You're absolutely right. You should seek God for him and the way He makes your life and your emotions, not for his help in your life. Figure out your own life and seek God's love instead. Love, not praise. That's a good idea.
I'm Wiccan, mind you.

There is a Scripture in the Old Testament that says "God inhabits the praises of His people."So,He wants praise. It says in the New Testament 'what so ever things ye ask believing ye shall receive.

Love the lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your might. God's purpose is to be glorified. Praise and love are both ways to do that. I wouldn't skimp on one or the other were I you.... Glorify him in every way you can.

I don't think that she/he needs anything from us, that is only your or over imagination that we think he needs something you must know that god is not a human we are his creation , If we believe what ever the profits have been saying , and he is over the needs of human being, If you think of God you do it for yourself, you remember all the faults that you have had, in the day or days and pray for being better and if you do so you will be a better person,

You should love God with your whole heart. God does want us to love him freely. We should love God enough that we would seek his loving words as we would seek for a hidden treasure. Yes God is wonderful and deserves our love!

We should love God completely purely without asking anything from Him. If we ask Him for something, it is not really love of God. For example, if we ask Him our daily bread, it is love for daily bread, not for God.
Yes, God wants our love. He is not in need of anything, but He wants to receive our love. Praising Him can be one of the manifestations of our love for Him.
The mood of pure love for God is taught by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Supreme Lord in th form of His own devotee in these verses:
na dhanam na janam na sundarīm
kavitÄm vÄ jagad-Ä«sa kÄmaye
mama janmani janmanīsvare
bhavatÄd bhaktir ahaitukÄ« tvay
"O Almighty Lord, I have no desire to accumulate wealth, nor to enjoy beautiful women. Nor do I want any number of followers. What I want only is the causeless mercy of Your devotional service in my life, birth after birth." (Siksastakam 4)
Äslisya vÄ pÄda-ratÄm pinastu mam
adarsanÄm marma-hatÄm karotu vÄ
yathÄ tathÄ vÄ vidadhÄtu lampato
mat-prÄna-nÄthas tu sa eva nÄparah
"I know no one but Krishna (God) as my Lord, and He shall remain so even if He handles me roughly by His embrace or makes me brokenhearted by not being present before me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, for He is always my worshipful Lord, unconditionally." (Siksastakam 8)
