Or in your own personal life? Is there someone or some group that's always trying to make you or everyone feel guilty for something? Why do you think they the way that they are? How do you deal with the guilt they want to dump on you?

Mothers? The Catholic Church? Jewish Mothers? Religious Fanatics? Big Sisters? Alcoholic Parents? War Supporters? Your Boss at Work? Political fanantics? Or whoever.

Hopefully, this will not stir up any old wounds that anyone may have about any of their personal relationships, as that is not its intent, but it is instead perhaps a chance to find a consensus on the subject. I posted this question in this section because it can virtually be a spiritual burden on a person to have to deal with this and this section usually generates some of the most interesting responses.

Or would you as parents stand up to the Seanists and shout them down at every school board meeting possible saying Not in my child's class room will you teach that idea without any empirical evidence.

That's not to say that the Theory of Creation by *Sean* in comparative religion isn't practical, it most certainly is.

I originally posted this question in society and culture, but I think I should have placed it here. So that is what I am doing. And your answer can not be jesus, GOD, or your parents. But answering "yourself" is acceptable. And please tell me why you chose that person as your inspiration.

I'm not talking about religious education, but more of a comparative religion course that goes about exposing the true history of all modern religions as well as background in the origins of religous expression?

Do you think requiring this type of education of all students would resolve some of the misconceptions of Christianity and Islam that breed fundimentalism and other such problems?

I believe you should be reqired to know what you believe before you believe it... Most Christians seem to have very little grasp on the true history of their faith.

A lot of the problems of the world seem to stem from religions. Sure, problems occur when people argue the topics of 'gods' of all sorts, but too many people PRAISE gods of their choice for causing death to people!

Not only the muslim/islam extremists, but the western religions as well! Look at Bush, he keeps saying his God has told him to do these insane acts, killing many young adults for stupidity.

):

I've been a theologist since before high school (I was a strange, curious child) so there was really nothing to sway me about, but I wonder, very honestly, about other people.

This is partially for research of the world. :) So please don't come yelling at me to accept God/Allah/Buddah/whoever. (And don't pray for me please. While it's nice and all for you, it kind of makes me uncomfortable!) I've spent my time with them and more, and find that my own path is the one for me. This is simply to find out what the world does when the rest of the world goes crazy.

Thank you.

I was born in America and lived here my whole life. Same with my parents. How is someone else more "native" than me? We all came from Africa, after all.

Christians, you accepted a new Testament and give it authority over the Old Testament. Mormons are not different. Why not accept the LDS Testament?

why you do not believe in Mohammed? Muslims are like u...pray for only one God Allah with no partners. And Jesus has not said that he is the last Messenger.indeed, he said that a Messenger will come after him called Ahmed (Mohammed Is called also Ahmed in arabic).Mohammed, be pray upon him, has said that he was the last profet send to People. and that seems true after 1400 years since he was sent.

Are you litterally born of God & have His DNA within you?

1 John 3:9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him, & he can't keep on sinning because he has been born of God.

Peter 1:23 For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is through the living and abiding word of God.

spirituality is based on no books no savior and not even based on repenting its based soley on being one with the creator god and knowing all things in one self in ones life time. spirituality is also based on a way of life and not based on worship and prayer.

christianity is based on a book and based on a savior and repenting for crimes that one may never have commited to start with. christianity is based on dividation of person and family. it is also based on a relationship with jesus. (i am sure jesus doesnt feel the same about it either)

but heres the deal if christians really want to be spiritual then remove the books and the savior complex and listen to your own hearts and open your eyes to the world around you.

Do the past actions of Christians have any effect on Christians today, good or bad? Should they? How about Muslims, Neo-nazis, Native Americans etc... should they have any association with others in the same "group" past or present?
