Those of you who talk about humanity's 'sinful, evil, polluted' nature, are you not expressing a deep hatred and distrust for Humanity?

If I choose to see humans as worthy of love and respect, people who are on a path of enlightenment, each person having attained whatever level of wisdom they're ready to accept and always learning more, why must you insist I'm wrong and that people need you to 'guide' them?

I am esimating that very few will have a rational answer , due to the lack of deep understanding of the relationship between belief and human existence . I will ignore all hateful answers , insults , racial slurs , and only pay attention to rational answers .I dont want to spark a debate on whether or not God is a man or woman , read the question and answer with your brain and your heart , if you have them .This is your chance to to be a human being .I cant wait to read what the "responses" will be , this will be hysterical . Is there some formulation of the concept that Jesus died for your sins, therefore you should love him and have eternal life blah blah blah, and btw the universe was created in exactly 7 literal days because the bible says so, that would make you change your mind? I'm asking because I keep seeing Thumpers trying to restate these ideas in different ways, perhaps hoping that somewhere there is a weak atheist who is just waiting for these words to be spoken the right way and then he/she will finally understand Christianity and henceforth be a die-hard bible thumper.

So if there is such a person, please announce your presence now.

If there is no such person, may I suggest that these Thumpers might want to find more productive ways to spend their time. I'm not suggesting they stop arguing/ proselityzing/ evangelizing completely. Just think up some other way of doing it besides restating scripture that we've all heard hundreds of times before, because it really isn't going to work.

Is it not presumptious arrogance to assume you know better than I what I should be doing to prepare my soul for the after-life? Have I not quoted enough scripture, demonstrated enough awareness of your message that it can be safely assumed I've considered your point of view and rejected it?

It would be one thing if I were asking for a spiritual guide. But you would force yourself upon me in the belief I need -you- to tell me what to believe and what to do?

Is your need to feel needed interfering with your respect for others who believe differently? Is your need to show God how 'holy' you are causing you to ignore the Golden Rule?

What do you think of Tim LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins and their Left Behind series? I found hope that after the Rapture, that if I accepted God, I would not be condemned to Hell if I became a believer, even though I know I may not make it to the Glorious Appearing of God. Though I now believe in God, I do not feel saved.
Are they giving false hope that there is still hope after the Rapture? I know this is a fictional series, but it scared me, but also gave me hope.
