Perhaps these two ideas are not mutually exclusive unless held in their most extreme forms.
Humanity, as I see it, is a tarnished beauty with much hope for improvement. Down but not out, as it were.

Good question.
God made man just a little lower than the angels. Surely the worth of a soul is great in the sight of God. We are all God's children and we are all on a path back to our Father's dwelling place. You are right when you say that we all achieve a certain level of enlightenment and that we should all be striving to learn more and find greater enlightenment. That is God's desire, that we should become like him and we can only do that through diligence, learning and becoming obedient to His commandments. When we leave this mortal state, we will then continue our education and growth along the way to our heavenly home. We will be at different levels of enlightenment and those with greater enlightenment will have so much the advantage over those with lesser knowledge. "Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection and he that attains more knowledge through his dilligence and obedience than another shall have so much the advantage in the world to come." Mankind are worthy of love and respect because they are created in the image of God. All the Messengers of God have taught about this divine truth. A true believer do love all mankind unconditionally. And this is why we have to remind each other to learn and apply this lesson.
Any group of people (even people in one family) may love and respect each other, but they would easily change into hatry and despise if circumstances lead to confict in benefits, ideas, attitudes, cultures, beliefs..., and anything else.
Only the love of God is true and changeless love.

I don't judge anyone because there is only 1 who has the right to judge-God.
Christians can verbalize their sadness re. the shape of the country in general such as people having no morals, etc. and still not hate those people.
However, as a believer I am to attempt to get people to understand the wisdom of also being a believer.

I agree with you...I love Jesus, but I can not judge you if you don't. If you find your spirituality in something else that doesn't mean that you are evil, sinful, polluted and what have you.. It just means that you chose to go another way. I can't judge you for that. God is the ultimate Judge of us all. What you decide to do with your life is between you and Him when that day comes.

The fact that man is sinful and corrupt cannot be disputed. We are all worthy of love and respect, but we make ourselves unlovable and disrespected by our conduct. People do need guidance, but most will not accept it except in their most dire moments when they have cast themselves down to the lowest level of human existence.

Thank you bobkgin for the question. It is enough for me to know that worthy is not just a word for many, and you in particular. Perhaps if a man carries within himself, honour and humility, it is not only enough, but all. To believe in God is an individual's choice; his words and deeds are his own, and perhaps indeed, God takes note of intent.

Humanity is both, in my opinion. We are sinful creatures. Look at all the crime in the world. But we are worthy of love. love the sinner, hate the sin.

Actually I think there's a mixture of good and bad in everyone. You see no one's all together bad, but no one is all together good either. It just depends on their own actions.
