Why not? They invented Christianity and are just as stupid as the rest to say they believe in a trinity mystery that is total rubbish.

In the broadest of terms, you can call Catholics Christians, because they believe in Christ. But because they don't believe 100% in the atoning sacrifice of Christ, I wouldn't say they are real Christians. When Christ died on the Cross, He paid our debt 100%. There is nothing we can do to help our salvation, Christ did it all. But Catholics try to negate the Cross with rules and ordinances; such as good works or penance. Christ did 100% of the work. If we say we have to do something on our pat, that's blasphemous.
Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses are also not Christians, in that they don't accept the divinity of Christ.. Christ is God, not Michael the Arc Angel.

It depends how losely you describe "Christians" and how losely you call them "Catholics". They overlap,,,but the Catholics say that the Pope is infallable- which is in direct violation of what Gods word has said. Based on this, then I'd have to say they're evil under the cover of piety and christianity

Yes. Catholics are Christians, as are Protestants. The Christian church split in the mid-11th century into the Roman and Greek (Orthodox) Churches. In the 17th century, the Roman church split furthermore into the Roman Catholic and Protestant sects due to the efforts of Martin Luther.

Yes. Any religion that is based on Jesus Christ is Christian. The Catholic Church was established by the Apostles. Other Churches broke away and began their own sects when they got tired (or disgusted) with the hierarchy of Rome (the Vatican). Thus other Christian religions are called "PROTESTant".

Yes. Christianity is an umbrella that covers all religions that believe in Jesus. All of the protestant denominations split off of Catholicism in the 1600's, creating a rift, but all are still Christians.

I've asked questions like that, but I've come to think that, since the last sheet of ice at the south pole is melting, earth saving is more important. After all, no matter how you define your faith, and how others define their faiths, and whether or not ya'll agree....Have we been good stewards to each other, our animal neighbors, and the earth? You can sit and wait til Christ comes. Or do something while you wait (not a personal judgement.... but an idea.)

nanipms,
You have to define Christian to really know the answer. I think that it is very dependent upon what part of Catholicism the individual relys on.
There are some that are so dependent on the virgin Mary, and the prayer to saints, and the rituals that Jesus never said to do.
"By your traditions, you make void the word of God." And those traditions are sour, they are not sweet to the Lord of Hosts.
Let the Bible be your guide and the Holy Spirit be your inspiration. God CAN do that you know. He brings us understanding.

Yes, you could say that - considering they were begun by Jesus Christ himself while he was still on earth. All other Christian religions began more than 1,500 years later. Catholics are the original Christians.
