Jesus was a peaceful being. Someone who wishes you "His" peace may be sharing the love and compassion of Christ.

God be with You, May the Peace of our Lord and Savior, be with you. Why do you feel that this is not right? It is a beautiful way to bid farewell to someone that you may have sat by in church. As a person gets older , it is really nice to have someone say this to you, especially when this world is so full of un-rest. Only a person in his/her right mind would think of something so nice. A person who is not in his/her right mind would not even think of something like this to say. SO if someone has said that to you, then give Thanks, because it is so nice. You need to think about using that nice sentence.

Because they believe that "He" was really at peace, and the like you so much that they want you to have the same peace. Not to mention, it's a traditional way to salute a congregation.
May his peace be with you!

I think it's a very kind thing to wish upon someone. I could hardly take that badly.

The world might be a better place if we all used this phrase instead of "bye".

People who believe in God would say this.
I don't believe in God but I don't find fault with those that do & I don't question their sanity.
