It just comes naturally to some people to say God Bless You. It is not ment to offend. It is just like someone wishing you good luck and is usually said if perhaps you had done a good turn for someone. It is nothing to get annoyed about. It only means someone has good feelings for you. Someone down the line said something about it meaning they want to convert......That is nonsense. Why must some people be so touchy? That kind of thinking is what has the world in the sorry state it is in today. It is up to everyone to believe in whatever they choose. To start nitpicking because someone wishes someone well is just a sorry waste of energy. I don't worry about what blessing is bestowed on me as long as the person bestowing it is wishing me well. Peace and Love to you too.

In English-speaking countries, it is common for at least one person to say "God bless you" (or just "Bless you") after someone sneezes. Some believe its origins stem from the belief that the heart stops for a short period during the sneeze. A more common opinion is that a sneeze can mean a person's soul is escaping or is in danger (eg. in times of illness), and by saying "God bless you" the sneezer's soul is therefore protected.

You know, I don't answer many questions about religion, it is after all faith, not fact. Some might say even superstition. If those who believe in GOD say God bless you, is that they want you to have a better life!
My answers don't get many “best Answers” in religion. What I believe or don't believe, or what you believe or don't believe, doesn't make a difference in this reality. GOD is silent.

If it's after a sneeze, I say it automatically, without thinking. I don't walk around like some people saying: Oh, God bless you. How do they know if God blesses them?

It started out because for a split second when you sneeze your heart stops so people say "God Bless You"...if you don't believe in God then it shouldn't bother you anymore than the word luck would bother you because after all they would both be just a word, right?

Because,,,,,to be blessed is to wish happyness and well being on the person. I would think that people who really do want to do whats right would say this!

I mean the opposite is "God Damn You" right? Now thats a horrible wish on anyone!
