Is there some formulation of the concept that Jesus died for your sins, therefore you should love him and have eternal life blah blah blah, and btw the universe was created in exactly 7 literal days because the bible says so, that would make you change your mind? I'm asking because I keep seeing Thumpers trying to restate these ideas in different ways, perhaps hoping that somewhere there is a weak atheist who is just waiting for these words to be spoken the right way and then he/she will finally understand Christianity and henceforth be a die-hard bible thumper.

So if there is such a person, please announce your presence now.

If there is no such person, may I suggest that these Thumpers might want to find more productive ways to spend their time. I'm not suggesting they stop arguing/ proselityzing/ evangelizing completely. Just think up some other way of doing it besides restating scripture that we've all heard hundreds of times before, because it really isn't going to work.

Maybe if you didn't want to convert anyone you'd be more sucessful.

I'm what you'd call a "weak atheist" in the sense that although I do not believe in any god, I do admit the possibility of a deity. The reason I don't take that step is, simply put, because I've seen no evidence (either concrete or logical) nor do I need anything remotely like a "god" to explain and make sense of reality.

I agree completely ..if people are going to believe then they will..but until they change their minds themselves there is nothing we can do ... I'm sure they have all heard the same arguments in different ways 90,000 times and if they haven't worked then what makes them think they are gonna work now?

Probably the same chance that there is a verbal argument that would make Christians give up their religions.
