How many of you who claim there is no separation of church and state have knowledge of this letter and if so, why do you choose to ignore its weight since it comes directly from a founder? I would be interested in the rationalizations applied that allow you to do that.

Other than the "separation of church and state" issue why is this a problem?

No one is saying that the city, school or other property is advocating that holiday, only recognizing that it exists? Why is this wrong?

If they were to allow recognition of other religious holidays (such as Hindu, Wiccan, Muslim, Jewish, Shintoism, Taoism or any other religion), would that make a difference to you?

Only two percent of the United States is Jewish, yet they are disproportionately represented in the entertainment industry. Why? I know why there a lot of jewish professionals (doctors, lawyers, etc.) - it's because the religion emphasizes studying and learning. But why entertainment? Is it because they like to peform and express themselves? Is it because they are inherently more talented than others? Is it because most Jews live in LA and NYC, the two centers of entertainment in the US?

Why did he surround himself with idiots (the NT portrays the appostles as stumbling, unbelieving idiots), then appoint James as his successor. THEN, the appoints Paul as his OTHER successor, gives him a very different Gospel to teach. I mean, Paul and James are diametrically opposed (if you read the Clementine, they are trying to have each other killed.)

What James was teaching (as near as we can tell) was a lot closer to what Jesus was originally reaching. Why does Paul need to extrapolate so much? Why didn't Jesus simply teach what he wanted? Why did he withold from his apostles and give secret knowledge to Paul. Why did he give an incomplete message to his people (the Jews) and give a complete message to people that he refered to as dogs (gentiles.)

If he wanted a separate message for the Jews, didn't he realize that James and his followers would soon be wiped out by the Romans? Isn't he omniscient?

I'm confused.

God delivered me from my blindness. When I thought I was saved, I realized I was only in "church bondage". The truth is so far from most all organized religions today. They've built great walls between themselves and God with doctrines that can not be found in the Bible. The trinity, "accepting the lord jesus christ as your personal savior" paying tithe to the pastor rather than all those that minister to God. Organized sports is a sin, cutting your hair is a sin, wearing makeup is a sin, drinking wine is a sin, Why can't they just let people live according to the word rather than peer pressure?

I think God is doing a terrible job. It is time for a recall and new elections.

For example, if I were God, I wouldn't so much about what people believe as much as what they do. I wouldn't be offended if they don't toe some dogmatic line as long as they were good to each other. And I certainly wouldn't have commanded Joshua to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Also, babies would never be burned to death. Children would never get raped or beaten. There would be no tooth decay and chocolate would be good for you. I would get rid of the appendix (it does nothing except endanger your life.)

If there was a war, only soldiers would get hurt and the generals and politicians would have to stand in front.

And the greatest sin would be people think that they had a personal line to me giving them the right to condemn other people, to kill them and to wipe out cultures in my name.

What would you do?

Why is it more important to believe and have faith that God exists than if he were to give unmistakable proof that he does exist?

Why is faith worth more than knowledge?
